LaMarcus Aldridge Wants Trade From Spurs

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Jun 22, 2017 3:29 pm

According to Stephen A. Smith, LaMarcus Aldridge is "very, very unhappy in San Antonio right now. He feels the Spurs have compromised him, his productivity. They have hurt his game. As a result, he wants out and he wants out in the worst way. He wants to be gone."

The San Antonio Spurs are looking to trade Aldridge ahead of the draft.

Name me a team where LA makes sense...?

-Boston-not for any high picks tho, maybe a future super protected one and Smart (since people seem to think he has vaue. He's garbage to me)

-Chicago if they insist on making Butler-wade work. (For who idk tho)

-Rubio & #7 for LA and Dejaunte Murray? :)))

-LA for Hornets #11?

-LA for Nuggets #13 and Gallinari.

Blame one of the most respected organizations in the NBA. He never showed up. Last season TD had to come in and play minutes and was much more effective then LA. This year he looked absolutely shook. Forcing shots- not attacking the rim- looked almost frightened out there. Thought he would be a great addition in SA- probably should have stayed in POR- with Lillard and CJ.

The Spurs would be lucky to receive a top 10 pick in return for Aldridge. You've got to wonder which of these teams are willing to give up their picks Celtics (3), Suns (4), Kings (5 & 10), Magic (6), Wolves (7), Knicks (8) and Mavs (9). Answer = none.
My all-time starting five: Hakeem Olajuwan, Michael Jordan, and three 3nD role players.

The Lakers were trying to trade down.

Dirk is almost done and the Mavs are always in win now mode.

In that top 10 pick area potentially I see Minnesota,Dallas,Phoenix in the race to trade their pick for LMA. It would be funny if the kings traded for him but that would be a bad move for the kings. It might work out too and they don't trade him at all. Where else is he going to win?

Is he really worth a top 10 pick in this year's draft? Not IMO

Yea trade down for a player like Aldridge? No way, not happening.

And what's your point if Dirk is almost done? Bring in LA and get a ticket to an early playoff exit again?

I know we like to throw JV's name around a lot, but this trade might actually make some sense for both sides, although there are downsides to both teams (LMA's age for the Raptors, JV's style of play for the Spurs, esp if they have Gasol coming back). But I'd like it as a Raps fan. Lowry probably signs in that case, and you go with a lineup of Lowry/Derozan/Tucker/LMA/Ibaka. Not terrible, although there is a serious lack of 3pt shooting, which is opposite to what Masai wants, so....

what in god's name did he expect going to the spurs? that he would be "the man", turning the spurs into portland south?
the donald, always unpopular, did worse in EVERY state in 2020. and by a greater margin in red states! 50 independently-run elections, none of them rigged

Would LMA for Kevin Love make any sense whatsoever? Just wondering if 2 good players in bad situations could improve their situations (and teams).

I like the LMA to CHA for 11 deal. I don't know what filler would be needed, if any. I would think CHA might want LMA to change his PO to a TO to finish the deal, though. So they get two years out of him.

Yep, trade down. They could still get the player they want at 5 and use the 10th for Paul Gorge, Jimmy Butler, or LeMarcus Aldridge.

Aldridge would make the Mavs better.

There's just no way the Mavs do it. FURTHER tarnish their future by giving up a top 10 pick (they will be definitely satisfied selecting either DSJ/Frank/Monk) for an aging LMA? who plays similarly to Dirk anyway? for what...lotto or 1st round exits again for the next few years? plus hurting their cap number... i don't think it's gonna happen.

LMA would make the MAvs SLIGHTLY better...but not much

Lakers already tried getting the 5th and 10th picks for the 2nd pick.

pistons would be a good fit for him, but I don't think we trade, we want to see who is going to fall to us first.
