Remember New York is Drummond's home town.

Andre grew up in Mount Vernon.

The only way I see this happening is if we take back multiple bad deals. Something like this:

Drummond and #12 to PHX for Chandler, Knight, and #4

Morris, Jackson and #4 to NYK for Noah, Porzingis

Why for DET? Porzingis nuf said. Knight to back up Ish. The other two because we have to...

Why for NYK? Moves Noah, gets them #4. Morris is a decent player on a good deal, Boban is interesting as a back up. Jackson is the "veteran" starter they want? (probably not)

Why for PHX? Drummond and rid of both Knight and Chandler. The pick swap is hard to see them do even with what is comming back.

Pistons

PG: Ish/Knight
SG: KCP/Johnson
SF: Harris/Johnson (F/A?)
PF: Leuer/ Ellenson
C: Porzingis/Chandler/Noah

Not sure it is worth it. but...

Dre, SJ, Henry & #12 for Zingis, Noah & Lance Thomas

Noah & Thomas are poor contracts we swallow to get the Unicorn

Zingis - Noah - Bobo
Jon - Mook
Tobias - Thomas
KCP - FA
RJ - Ish

NY get back a load of young players and would draft a PG this year with their pick & a SG with ours

Dre
Henry
SJ
Kennard
DJS?

They'd still have Melo too

Jackson is just playing mind games with Porzingis, he's not really going to trade him unless the offer is ridiculous.

I'd be confident that we at least placed a call, and even more confident Jax told us to F off.

We stink and we can't even tank properly so we never have any decent assets like high draft picks or young players picked in the top 5 in previous years. Nothing on this roster is worth Porzingis. Maybe Drummond, this year's pick, and 2 more first round picks. Man, we suck.

LaMarcus Aldridge would be a better player for us.

Knicks organization is so high on Porzingis Detroit is going to have to part ways with 2 1st and a decent player to get him.Trust me the asking price for this guy is going to be high.

I think this is more Phil trying to get fired. Dolan tells him no and he says he can't work like this - "either allow this trade or fire me".

We better not get Aldridge, DeAndre Jordan, or any player that will let us "win now" aka exit the first round

Time to blow it up, one can home but looks like we are stuck with a garbage #12 pick to stack next to our other garbage picks Stanley and Ellenson

The idea that the Pistons have a shot at Porzingis is laughable.

The asking price was supposedly #3, 2018 BRK, Brown, and Crowder. We have nothing approaching that and swallowing bad contracts isn't bridging the gap.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy
