So now that we have two top tier rookies + more coming in this year, is there slight reason to believe Okafor could actually turn things around again and be a contributor on this squad? I mean, he has had plenty of ups and downs so far but there's no denying his offensive prowess. I think as he is maturing maybe he will realize he could be part of something really special here and put his best foot forward and work hard + play with more passion on a winning squad.

He could be a first big off the bench still and be a contributor on a contender with his offensive skills alone. He was taking over games and becoming a go-to guy in the clutch (NY Knicks game). I feel like he just needs the motivation from playing on a contender again to ignite some more fire.

He hasn't earned the right to be the first big off the bench. Holmes has and he will be the first big of the bench.

I'm not saying he has earned it yet nor is he in that spot currently. Just saying he does have the skill to be that if he puts it together I think.

My sources say Sixers is shopping Okafor and our 2nd rounders thisndraft night. Might use him to trade up.

I still hope we give Okafor another shot, and i'd rather hang onto him unless we can sneak back into the top 20 of this draft . At Duke, he was surrounded by a championship caliber basketball team, and his flaws were 'hidden' as one would say. No doubt hes a skilled offensive center.

I think with Simmons and Fultz getting him the ball, rather than Canaan and McConnell, he'll be in better positions to operate.

As far as the never ending Defensive lapses go. Watch the little footage we have when he played along side Embiid. His 'capabilities' are there. I believe one game he started with Embiid, he ended the game with 13 rbs. He plays better with better talent. Its more than evident.

Once and if that knee injury goes away, I believe we'll see the #3 pick in his right form.

This is the most optimistic take someone can have.

Back to reality tho, i dont want that lackadaisical turd near this team to possibly influence others. His effort is what drives the majority of this fanbase to bash him not skill.

Mike singletary is basically how i feel about jah in a nutshell.

i dont see him as a piece going forward because he will get abused and i mean A-BUSED in the pick and roll in the playoffs against a good team whenever he is on the court.

I wish Okafor well in his future endeavors. I have nothing against the guy. He handled a tough situation with a lot of class and maturity. I hope he improves with his next team. But he needs to go.

Another draft night comes and goes and Big Jah is stilled stuck and buried on our depth chart.

He's not gonna be traded, said it all year. No one wants him, so he will be here unless they release him.

I can see Simmons and Fultz making him look better. The dumber GM's might fall for that illusion never know.

I was too distracted by your profile gif to focus on what you were saying. What did you say again? :P

i'm sure Pops would be glad to take him off our hands for nothing. Phil, Danny and Pat as well. but no one is going to give us anything for him, with the possible exception of Chicago, who are looking pretty dysfunctional these days. as far as cutting him, 'cause he's somehow toxic to the organization, coaches, press and even LibertyBallers are universal about the guy's positive attitude through all this. (at least since his early rookie adventures.)

right now, the only focus is if he can heal, and play pain free. (i'm not chomping at the bit, but it would be nice to get something definitive out of the organization, or even just some reporting on this.) only after that hurdle can we evaluate if this guy can show some viable progression from where he was a year and a half ago. then we can worry about trading or keeping him. until then, he's like a local stash.

When does the decision on Okafor's $6.3 million team option for 2018-2019 season have to be made by?

Not sure of the exact date, but pretty sure it's before the start of the season.

I say give him away to Chicago for free. They need an extra tank commander. It will help Chicago beat out Brooklyn for the top Lottery seed and hurt the Celtics chances of getting a top 3 pick next year.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Still have some hope. Has to get rid of the hitch in his shot and commit on defense/rebounding. Not the worst problem to have if you're the sixers, but it would be nice had he shown more consistency earlier.

BC should pay a team to take Okafor. Pay a team 1 million dollars.
