Personally, I think I should get a government grant for even knowing who Wilson Phillips was.

I really just wanted to use this gif. RIP Chris Farley.

It's ok guys, we just need to *hold on for one more day* and we'll know who the Bucks are drafting!

Preference #1: Trade up for Zach Collins, Donovan Mitchell, Dennis Smith or Frank Ntilikina.
Preference #2: Trade back for Derrick White and Jordan Bell.
Preference #3: Stand pat, draft BPA. Maybe Ntilikina falls.

I'm real high on Brogdon...but Bledsoe would be an instant talent upgrade. At least for the short term. Scared of him since his knees could give out at any time.

Not sure whether I'd pull the trigger.

What makes you think Ntilikina is CLEARLY a level above anyone?

He is a role player on a French team playing sparingly, so you can't garner much of anything from his statistics. He didn't play at the Nike Hoops Summit so you haven't seen him against future NBA level players.

The videos I have seen of him (mostly grainy and in dimly lit gymnasiums mind you) he plays very passive. He doesn't seem to be a confident ball handler when pressed, his shot takes forever to get off, he can't finish at the rim because he weighs 165 pounds despite being 6'6", and he's too slow to take people off the dribble. He can shoot threes and play defense (so can Tyler Dorsey, and you can get him in the second round).

Watching his tape after watching De'aaron Fox's was actually comical. The difference in athleticism is jarring. Ntilikina just doesn't have that extra gear that you need to be an NBA caliber PG, and that's not something you can learn. Ntilikina makes Brogdon look like Usain Bolt.

Well, I can honestly say I came into draft day expecting more 'Horst' jokes. I wasn't exactly looking forward to it but I could prepare myself.

A series of jokes playing on Wilson Phillips' 'Hold On' one-hit-wonder lyrics...weren't really on my joke board. I think the game has passed me by.

Sitting in a training day today, what time do we think we will be picking?

Ron Swanson wrote:BAM! was #9 on DX's preseason mock draft. We've seen plenty of these talented Kentucky bigs' draft stocks "take a hit" due to subpar production (Skal, WCS, etc.). I don't get how people haven't figured it out yet. If you don't like the skills/intangibles that's one thing, but I've never understood the production argument. Kentucky bigs under Calipari never put up great numbers, not even Karl Anthony-Towns his freshman year.

I was a big Skal backer last year. My concern with Bam is that he's pretty aloof. I worry about his awareness, and his motor. His rebound rate was mediocre last year in spite of his physical tools.

It's ironic that you'd question Patton's motor. DX lists it as a strength. He plays frenetically. I think that's the reason his rebounding total isn't very good. He doesn't settle his feet and spot the ball. He's too busy battling and moving. He's referenced having some nerves, and that's the reason for it I think. That should diminish with experience. He'd also benefit more from the weight room than Bam. He has the frame to put on weight. I can see him playing 25 lbs heavier in the pros, while still retaining mobility. He's a really mobile guy like Bam, who can guard on pick and rolls and challenge vertically on the rim, while having more length, a better head on his shoulders, and his jumper flashes were a little more present.

I don't think we're really in a position to give up cheap talent for expensive talent, especially from Phoenix which has a history of not translating as well other places, and who has injury concerns.

If the right deal comes along, we can move Monroe, but I get the sense after he opted in some wanted to trade him regardless, which doesn't make sense to me when he was our 2nd best player last year, we have a thin rotation, and he complements Thon really well as a more proven vet with muscle.

Bledsoe is a constantly injured average starter making a fair salary. We lose in value by kind of a lot.

I really like Brogdon - his IQ helps him to get the most mileage out of his physical abilities, but the Bucks also need a point that has some genuine speed too, to along with a high BB IQ. Jennings & Knight had the foot speed, but the rest, eh.....

Ok so no Brogdon.

Do we think we make a competitive offer for Bledsoe?

I'm very ok not getting him but if we could do so on the cheap maybe there's an opportunity.

Phoenix's track record is hardly sterling.
