I'm fine with being terrible. For awhile; that's what it takes to rebuild. But why take a guy at #7 who will never be more than a role player? You need to take guys with a ceiling. DSJ was sitting right there. Who cares that you have 11 other PGs?

What does Zach Lavine's max look like? He's due for an extension after the season

Ummm, it's already been that.

This is like the 3rd busiest team forum on the site.

The idea that anything aside from winning the Finals or being a top 3 contender is equivalent, is just an immature fantasy.

Check NBA attendance to see that 'Title or Bust' isn't how most fans view the league.

Yep exactly. And LeBron will be past his prime..For us, best case scenario, we draft Michael Porter next year + other studs in 2019, 2020. Then make a run for Anthony Davis in 2021. Like I said, best case scenario :D

I wanted a rebuild with assets.

Not a rebuild with nothing.

This is why people didn't want to trade Jimmy, because there was no Hershel walker package walking through that door. The tank is here...be careful what you ask for.

Exactly. The big thing is that we raised our chances of getting into the top 5 next year. My only problem is why do we keep getting PGs when they all can't play.

So far he's been a stat stuffer with poor impact.

Which is scary, since he's already an efficient volume scorer, yet showing as a negative. If he has no interest in defense, hard to see how he ever becomes that great of a positive.

Off RPM: -0.62
Def RPM: -2.35

C'mon, Hoiberg will teach him defense. Did you not see Wade's defense last year?

I didn't want to trade Butler for like 99% of the garbage reported either.

Bulls need to absorb a bad contract for a draft pick.

or perhaps damage control by Bulls management. But I believe we heard that at the trade deadline too

Bulls took the 7th pick for Butler. You really think they would pass on getting the 3rd pick?

At least we won't need to debate about making/not making the playoffs. This team is all aboard the tank.

Next season will be a season of hope and despair as young guys show flashes and then make bone-headed plays.

We've moved back into the era of Kirk vs Ben. It'll be fun to see which young guys fans become fanboys of and which guys they hate on.

Sort of like Ron Mercer post dynasty....

Never liked the idea of your leading scorer not playing any defense, sets a bad example.

Thanks everybody, I didn't mean to derail; but I grew up with Dad taking me to the Chicago stadium and the united center. I remember my dad writing me a long letter when I was camping in the back country of British Columbia about the Brand for Chandler a long with a paper clipping. Today we sighed about Butler's end in Chicago. He's old, so I hope if he goes we get to catch one last Lakers or Clippers game against the Bulls. Last time we went, my dad got to meet Stacy King which was...hilarious. He told Stacy that he looked "much healthier" than the last time he saw him playing.

If reports are true that Boston wouldn't include the third pick or next years pick; they're fools. Keep doing nothing with all those assets.
