I would have liked to keep Butler, given that he is a high level talent, and you need those sort of players to even have a chance.

But I am not mad that the Bulls chose to rebuild.

What I am upset about is that they did not get a good return for Butler. Dunn does not have a lot of value right now, and Lavine is coming off a major injury. I like Lavine. He is/was super athletic and he has developed some skills outside that. But that injury hurts his value no question. And then exchanging the #7 and #16 picks is not a HUGE upgrade. And Butler clearly has the highest value. Can't even get future protected 1st or some 2nd round picks tossed in or anything?

Bulls front office is a joke.

Now they better not re-sign Mirotic. Over-paying Mirotic when you already have a capable replacement in the wings, and just drafted another, is a huge f'n mistake.

It's a shame if we don't send out Rondo for a bad contract with picks

The last several trades are pitiful
WE SEND THE BEST PLAYERS AND PICKS WITH THEM!
UGHHGHGHGH

This is the worst way to rebuild - lack of talent to trade for
lack of use of bad contracts -- they should use Butler TPE to get a bad deal and picks
The Bulls also dont' have any future picks

This is the difference between Ainge/Hinkie and Gar Pax

So is the question, will any of Dunn, Lavine or Markkanen be on the next Bulls team to make the playoffs?

Anyways, atleast they picked a lane and stopped being half-pregnant. They never had the balls to go all-in to spend on vets and build a over-the-cap team which requires creativity, lots of trades etc...

There is literally no one else to scapegoat. GarPax are on an island.

Lavine is next. Fred has already gotten some scapegoat cheese for himself. They'll be here forever.

Lots of teams were interested in Butler and this is what the Bulls got. Face fact guys, people were not ponying up for Butler. Bulls wanted to rebuild and saw this as the best offer moving forward.

I'm glad they picked a lane and instead of what we have been doing the past couple of years.

Why would pay the super max to player that is not a superstar on team that isn't contending for anything. I'm glad that we haven't locked ourselves into mediocrity with Butler for the next seven years. Hopefully we have a lot of great young talent meshing together by the time the Warriors run is over.

Well jimmy can't do it alone, they were responsible for not making a good enough team with him.. On the super max, only 2-3 players deserve it really but if those are the rules( by making all NBA teams)then he did deserve it. Can't find many 2 way players like him, he's unique. So now if the bulls draft a new kid that turns into a star but not a super star, 4 years later they are going to trade him ? Bulls all these years just saving as much money as they can, like they make nothing lol. Unfortunately Reinsdorf might be the real problem here,he don't care about the team or the fans. Maybe fans should stop caring too.

That player won't be 30 years old on team with chance of improving significantly so of course they would. They gave Rose a max.
Signing an elite player in free agency was a pipe dream and we all knew it.

The only thing that can make this season intriguing is if Marksmen is the real deal. Im talking KP-Dirk good.

That and if Dunn or Lavine are high flyers to make it exciting.

If not though...we might be set back 6 years

The answer is: of course not. I'd be willing to bet that none of them are in the league when that happens.

The Eastern Conf is really bad. I bet in 3 years the Bulls will be back in the playoffs.

Garpax don't care how a player looks in the NBA, all that matters to them is their opinion of said player when they evaluated him for the draft. I'm even more convinced of this now.

This trade stings so much I can't really take it.

1. Lavine could have been chosen over McD lol.
2. Lavine has a torn acl, of all teams to ride that faith wagon it's us?
3. They wanted Isaac I am convinced of this, he goes 6th.
4. They blinked and added the 16th pick because they wanted Lavine so badly, how pathetic.

Those are just the first 4 reasons I'm mad that I could think of off the top of my head.
Who needs to see when the Bulls aren't on?

Now we can get Bledsoe for a 2nd rd pick.

Awesome! Another trade exemption to let expire!

It will be at least 6 or 7 years before we even come close to making the playoffs again. That is the reality. Even when that eventually happens we will be right back where we are now. A middle of the pack team elminated in the first or second round. It won't be worth it.

Not if we get lucky and draft a few all-stars. Which is what it takes to be an elite team in the NBA unless you are the Lakers.
