Probably why a smart GM traded him and his bust for our all star.

An all star who wont lead Minnesota anywhere....

They'll be a playoff team. And they have a lot of potential. They just gotta play D.

They are not getting past the Warriors or Spurs depending on what happens with Aldridge.

I never realized how bad LaVine's on/off stats have been. Dunn clearly can't play. This truly is Butler for a young Channing Frye.

but havent seen what Lauri Markkanen can do.
lavine/dunn ive always liked, but would have preferred wiggins & keeping the 16th pick.

good lucky jimmy, will be tuning into a few twolves games next season

Yeah, I mean best case scenario is:

Markannen is a star.
Dunn is a star.
LaVine is healthy and a star.

If all three of those things happen it might seem like a great return but it'll always be a bad trade since we should've gotten more/given up less.

To add, first year under Thibs is always a high learning curve, especially for rookies. Maybe Dunn shows more this season.

Honestly, at this point I'm just glad there is a direction. And I think this should confirm that Pax has taken the wheels. Rumors have always been that he was the one that always wanted to rebuild.

That's on GarPax for not getting a better offer. There is no way a good GM doesn't get a better offer. Or maybe GarPax is so daft at evaluating talent that they thought this was a great offer. Either way, they got roasted on this trade.

People saying that they had to trade Jimmy now - no they didn't. He could have gotten similar if not better value at the deadline

Then that screws our draft position for next draft. Look at this draft. If we would have traded Jimmy at the deadline our best hope for our pick would have probably been 10th.

Trading Jimmy was not about the initial haul but future picks in upcoming drafts.

I barfed a little when Silver announced it. Not sure if it was because it was official, or all the tequila I drank to ease my pain.

That team has so much going for them. I would easily trade places with them, and think they have one of the brightest futures in the league.

Indeed, if out of this trade, the Bulls in 5 years ended up where Minny is right now, that is an outcome all these tankers should be amazingly happy with, and actually one of the better case results, compared with the Orlando and Sacremento type outcomes that are just as likely.

Yet people are sitting here trying to downplay Minny? Bizarre.

Trade would have been much better if we got Tyus instead of Dunn, and kept #16.

Bulls are doing EXACTLY what a smart team would do. Jimmy is gonna be 28 this season and gonna want that super max soon.

Moreover, The Warriors. Bulls have no business trying to contend at the moment. If you don't have Lebron, you have no chance vs the Warriors. Lebron and 3 or 4 other super stars is what it takes to beat them.

The smart teams should be cashing in on any aging "star" on their team and building for 4-6 years down the line when Lebron will finally be done and the Warriors will be older/more injury prone etc.

Durant and Lebron caused this chaos.

I'm actually impressed the Bulls had the balls to admit they have no chance and start rebuilding.

I wish my Heat team was doing this instead of resigning bums like Waiters and Johnson etc. Plan ahead, don't chase.

We have no idea what happens in the coming drafts w/ players we get. If the Wolves were playing in the East they would have made the playoffs.

It will be at least 6 or 7 years before we even come close to making the playoffs again. That is the reality. Even when that eventually happens we will be right back where we are now. A middle of the pack team elminated in the first or second round. It won't be worth it.

Not if we get lucky and draft a few all-stars. Which is what it takes to be an elite team in the NBA unless you are the Lakers.

The Bulls may have gotten one all-star tonight. Even after a stinker of a year, it's hard to imagine Kris Dunn at the very least, not becoming a very good starter for years to come. He definitely still has all-star potential regardless of what happened this past year in Minnesota.

Markkanen at first glance, looks good. As you watch more though, It's hard to see his ceiling any higher than a good role player since doesn't play defense or rebound well. Otherwise, he'd be a really good prospect. He just seems very one dimensional.

Kriss Dunn could potentially be a great #2 option on a contender. Bulls need to tank hard and try to get a #1 option to pair with him.

Dunn/Lavine/Giles/Laurri

Not pretty but at least has potential

I'd be more excited if we weren't getting a dude coming off an ACL tear, a 4 year college player that had an unbelievably bad rookie season and a slight upgrade to Niko.

There are no potential stars in this deal so there is nothing to watch with excitement while you daydream for the future.

Dude, Kris Dunn is a bum.

He's only 4 years younger than Jimmy.

Bulls got the best package they could. People wanting more are living in dream land. If people actually understood the rational there wouldnt be so many freaking out right now.

- Lauri Markkanen has potential. Haven't seen him play, just watched highlights. No way in hell Miro & him can play side by side.
- Loved Kris Dunn last year. Had to judge his rookie year, we all know Thibs hates rookies.
- Hopefully we suck enough that Hoiberg gets canned.. Gar too.
-2020 plan in full effect. Tank until then, get AD to return home. #trusttheprocess

Sad time to be a Bulls fan

Generally when a player can't play side by side with ______, that usually means they're not very good. Thibs gave Dunn a lot of opportunity. Only way we have a chance at getting a free agent in 2020 is to hit big on the 18/19 lottery.
