You know what? We would have tanked and gotten to the 9th or so pick if we just traded Jimmy during the season. We could have drafted Finnish Novak there with our own **** pick.

Bulls got the best package they could. People wanting more are living in dream land. If people actually understood the rational there wouldnt be so many freaking out right now.

That's subjective based on how much you'd value specific players involved.

Bulls have obviously loved Dunn since last year, and must think Lavine can make a full recovery.

Those could turn out incredibly bad bets vs say a package simply more pick loaded, or where the return is more centralized around one asset instead of the 3 quarters for a dollar approach.

I see little way any of these returns becomes a superstar, or even as good as Jimmy is unlikely. And if the goal is to win a title, that's the kind of singular talent you need, a franchise player.

It will be at least 6 or 7 years before we even come close to making the playoffs again. That is the reality. Even when that eventually happens we will be right back where we are now. A middle of the pack team elminated in the first or second round. It won't be worth it.

Not if we get lucky and draft a few all-stars. Which is what it takes to be an elite team in the NBA unless you are the Lakers.

The Bulls may have gotten one all-star tonight. Even after a stinker of a year, it's hard to imagine Kris Dunn at the very least, not becoming a very good starter for years to come. He definitely still has all-star potential regardless of what happened this past year in Minnesota.

Markkanen at first glance, looks good. As you watch more though, It's hard to see his ceiling any higher than a good role player since doesn't play defense or rebound well. Otherwise, he'd be a really good prospect. He just seems very one dimensional.

Kriss Dunn could potentially be a great #2 option on a contender. Bulls need to tank hard and try to get a #1 option to pair with him.

Lavine could very good a scorer as well. We got two young very athletic guys with potential. Not sure about the pick, but he looks nonathletic. I hope he can do more than shoot threes.

Generally when a player can't play side by side with ______, that usually means they're not very good. Thibs gave Dunn a lot of opportunity. Only way we have a chance at getting a free agent in 2020 is to hit big on the 18/19 lottery.

When has he done that for a rookie?

That's on GarPax for not getting a better offer. There is no way a good GM doesn't get a better offer. Or maybe GarPax is so daft at evaluating talent that they thought this was a great offer. Either way, they got roasted on this trade.

People saying that they had to trade Jimmy now - no they didn't. He could have gotten similar if not better value at the deadline

Then that screws our draft position for next draft. Look at this draft. If we would have traded Jimmy at the deadline our best hope for our pick would have probably been 10th.

Trading Jimmy was not about the initial haul but future picks in upcoming drafts.

No trading Jimmy was about acquiring assets that could either be stars or could be traded for potential stars. The Bulls got a guy coming off an ACL tear, a 4 year college player with a horrific rookie season and a high floor low ceiling stretch 4. They got horrible value for a star player. And the fact that they drafted who they did doesn't exactly get me excited about future top picks.

So...for those arguing about Porzingis earlier. Would you rather have the 3 pieces we got or Porzingis...what a joke this franchise is.

I'd be more excited if we weren't getting a dude coming off an ACL tear, a 4 year college player that had an unbelievably bad rookie season and a slight upgrade to Niko.

There are no potential stars in this deal so there is nothing to watch with excitement while you daydream for the future.

I don't think we can be confident that he is an upgrade over Niko. He certainly might be, but Niko has developed into a better defender.

WHAT?

Is Kennedy really saying Wade is going to walk away from $24m? Didn't he already tell the Bulls he was picking up his option?

T'Wolves are going to have around 20 mil in cap space if they renounce Shabaz, they are going to get even better.

Idk, but I still see an intriguing prospect in Dunn. I like his physical tools and skill set.

He did that during the 2016-2017 NBA season with Kris Dunn.

wade not coming back would make this trade a bit better, but who do you spend the money on? I still say you need respected vets on a young team with a young coach.

Dude, Kris Dunn is a bum.

He's only 4 years younger than Jimmy.

ONLY 4 years younger. 23 is pretty damn young. Jimmy wasn't doing anything at that age under Thibs.

In the NBA you NEVER get fair value when you trade a star.

Both sides are dumb. GarPax could fluke their way into a superstar over the next year or two and somehow the timeline is accelerated. Or they could strike out horribly and it might take 6-7 years. We don't have enough information to tell either way at this point

Last year the Bulls wanted Lavine and Dunn for Jimmy.

This year they got them PLUS the #7 pick. Only issue is we all now know Dunn sucks and Lavine tore his ACL.

Unreal...
