To make things even worse, there will be zero accountability going forward. Fred has zero chance of demanding anything from any of these guys.

Dunn will make us long for Grant. Lavine will make us pine for Zipser and his meager two way talent. Markannen will make Niko look like an all star. And they all will play a lot of minutes.

Nah, the Bears actually have shown some signs of taking actual gutsy moves to improve and set themselves up for a run. Might not fully pan out, but I'll give them a chance.

The Bulls panic traded their star player, had to throw in an extra draft pick as usual because every single team they deal(other than NYK) with soaks them on every transaction, have no direction for the future other than to draft big euro guys and trade for garbage point guards, and will be stuck on the treadmill for the next decade unless they luck into a player from Iowa State or New Mexico having top ten quality. Nope, I have no faith in the Bulls, their sub-par coach or their bottom of the barrel management team.

The Bears hired a new coach and GM and won 6 games then 3 their first 2 seasons. They traded multiple picks to move up one spot and draft a guy who the could have gotten at their own pick. They stink on offense, stink on defense, stink on special teams. Their top pick likely won't play the entire season. Looking at their schedule they could easily lose their first 9 games and end up with 3 wins again. They could easily end up the worst team in the NFL. Your outlook is likely better than mine.

I put both teams as equally awful when it comes to ownership, front office, and roster.

Of course. Bulls specialize in retirements packages. He can mentor Lavine and Dunn so he serves some purpose.

This is the proper beginning of a 4-5 year rebuild.

It won't be Levine and Dunn that lead this team back to the promise land - it will be the draft picks we pick up after Levine and Dunn lead us to the lottery.

I liked both trades and will be fading the public. Bears and Bulls will be improved.

Cap space is going to be vital this offseason and especially so next offseason.

We keep adding rookies like we are doing and players like Zipser, Canaan and Felicio for cheap....then we actually give ourselves the BEST chance to add a Top tier FA.

Our salary distribution looks outstanding right now and is primed for a big FA acquisition. Dunn makes 5 Million for 2 more seasons and he's only going to get better. Thats exactly the correct formula in building a strong team in the salary cap world.
For love, not money.

We had a nice lottery pick this year in a "loaded" draft and took a 9ppg 4rpg guy.

Nice haul. Dunn was considered a top prospect last year and pg take time. Floor is current smart. Lavine is a athetic freak but if knees dont hold up he could be a really special shooter. I would have pi oed dsj at 7 but lauri is a prospect that is hard to judge. Could be the best shooting center in the league as soon as next year. If D improves ue could be a top 25 player and has a high floor with his offensive ability. I know it stings but this is a very solid haul and a defined direction. Love this move.

Fans in a town where the Cubs won a world series after a 5 year tear down and rebuild should understand what is happening here (not saying anyone has to like it, just that more should understand). This trade was made with the goal of a terrible 2017/18 season. The centerpiece (Lavine) probably won't play till January. Dunn is still learning the pro game and will probably be starting from day one. The big fin will struggle with the strength and speed of the league and get destroyed in every pick and roll he attempts to defend. Pax is smart enough to know all this.

But fast forward to 2018/19. Now we have a top five pick in a promosing draft. LaVine is healed up and ridiculously talented. Dunn, should be servicible with a chance to suprise. Markken projects to be an elite shooter. And of course more cap room than anyone.

I get all the crying, and it sucks that we gave Jimmy to Thibbs. But the beauty of this rebuild is that it is essentially only one year in the pit.. and then we are on the climb up. Many nba teams sit in the pit for 5-6 years.

I heard Gar/Pax turned down a trade that involved Russell Westbrook coming to the Bulls...

Positives:

Lavine was looking like a stud before his ACL, as long as he can still shoot he will be fine
Dunn, not sure what they see in him but now they got him and time to see what he can really do
The 7ft Finnish guy, I know nothing about him but he's supposedly a good shooter, we will see

Giving the 16th pick away is my only complain, but a big one

I give the trade a B+

Wolves are gonna be awesome

I thought the wolves were supposed to be awesome last season. They must became the Bulls.

Timberfolves fan here (and Bears fan, so I feel your pain :P), coming in peace to tell you a bit more about Zach LaVine and Kris Dunn.

As excited as I am about Butler coming to Minnesota, I hate to see LaVine and Dunn go. I think they are really underrated, both of them. What you should know about LaVine is that he is a gym rat. He works really hard and has improved a lot and was pretty efficient last season. He's not a good defender, but he is also improving there and I think he can be an adequate defender in time. Offensively... get ready for highlight dunks and deep pull up 3's in the clutch. LaVine has that killer mentality that Wiggins lacks.

Kris Dunn had a hard time in his rookie year, but he is by no means a lost cause at all. He was actually a good defender this season, which is really rare for a rookie PG. I think he could become one of the best guard defenders in the league. He actually reminds me a lot of Jimmy Butler in many ways. I'm sure you remember Butler's rookie season. You knew you had a potential defensive stud, and there is a semblance of a good offensive player there, but the shot needs to be worked on. Dunn also has some highlight level passes and he'll probably enjoy himself and play more relaxed now that he's a likely starting PG.

Bulls will be my 2nd favorite team now, cause I love these guys. Not sure about Markkanen, but you need his shooting and that will open up a lot for my guys as well, especially Dunn.

Then wouldn't the proper beginning have been a package of future picks?

Fire this dumba** go combo. This is the stupidest thing I've seen in years... like Kahn 2pg level idiotic

Thus was empirically one of the worst decisions ever. Even if you like it, you readily admit that last year's moves were absolutely horrendous...

So either way... these guys are f******* morons . Must be fired

You missed the part where the Nets traded their franchise's future for over the hill Celtics players, then.

Fantastic restart. Alot of upside in tye fact of 3 recent lotto picks. If the bust most likely top five next year. This is how u do it. Middling is nba hell. Huge rondo fan watched a lot of bulls. Picking a direction gives hope and this trade has huge potential upside and variance. In todays nba taking a safe road gets you no where.
