Fortunately no, because that position no longer exists in the NBA and we have 3 of them.

I hope the front office agrees and doesn't sign Len to a **** up contract

Yes, it would be. Knight makes 14 million a year and these guys make as much as the teams want to pay, usually less than 1 million. Cap space is huge. Knight takes up a ton of it. He provides little on court value. We will have to attach an asset with him to trade him.

If we don't want to attach an asset to trade him, that would mean we HAVE to play him, but not sparingly...a lot, and he would have to do well for a long stretch to gain trade value, but chances are he would suck. There is almost a zero win situation with him. That's why I don't mind giving up an asset.even our next pick, to deal him. The cap space is far more valuable than him on the team.

I still think of the Suns want to save a bit of cash - the Knight for Shumpert move works. But damn , Shumpert is bad - almost would rather have Knight. I think this is just obvious Barbosas option will not be picked up

Warriors paid 3.5m for Josh Bell. Suns could have had him right there. I think Ryan missed - maybe they already have a two way guarantee with the guy.

Jackson, Bledsoe, and a future first for KP. (Better then what the Celtics offered)

PG 3 for Miami 17 + Knight + 2 seconds (better then what the
Lakers offered)

Sign Lowery.

Lowry/Ulis
Booker/Barbosa
PG3/Warren/Dudley
Chriss/Bender
KP/Tyson/Sauce

Win now. Build for the future. Balanced roster.

I get that. But Bell is one of those guys that seem to make teams better. Defend, block shots, run the floor, loose balls -

Hopefully Reed can make an impact though.

I think if they want to keep him they would match anything 10m and under, and then if he doesn't get an offer (not sure he will), we will maybe give him a 2 year contract for 8 million a year with PO? We could go lower since it would still be above his QO I think. Or we just let him play for his QO...

Drafting for need has always been an idiotic thing to do.

Warriors drafted Draymond Green when they had David Lee coming off an All Star season or a very good season.

I wouldn't read too much into it. They probably made it a tradition at Kansas or something.

Paul George is going to the Lakers - one year rental. So maybe not the best move unless you could sign and trade for a guy like Clarkson but that's a reach. But I think Knight, Warren and maybe the Miami 1st might be doable - -but probably not for George - but Love in a three way deal. Granted, not sure how Love fits the roster

Barbosa - I doubt his option will be picked up - that's a lot of cap space saved. Unless the Rockets want to save cap space and trade him for Beverly

Lowry is interesting

Even though I mentioned we needed a Booker backup, I don't think they were drafting for need. I think they were drafting the player they were most impressed with. Bell will likely look good. Any player the Ws drafted will look like a great draft pick because if you get on the court with pretty much 4 other all stars, or at least 3, you are being paid no attention to, and if you are the least bit good, you will look much better than a player playing for most teams.

I just think Reed and Sauce off the bench would have added a lot of energy, hustle, etc. But hopefully Reed can make a shot and defend. Probably also a very good candidate to go back and forth to the G league, two deal.

Who is going to throw a lot of money at Len? The events so far this summer favor us in negotiations.

1. The Lakers Moz mistake is front and center for all to see.
1A. Brooklyn now has an overpaid center
2. Myles Plumlee has had 3 teams since he signed his monster contract. No one wants to pay him.
3. The Hornets now have an overpaid and washed up center.
4. The champions of the league barley play a center.
5. The cap is considerably lower then expected.

What GM will now pay $10-12mil a season for a guy who couldn't beat out 46 year old Tyson Chandler for a starting spot and then lost his time to undrafted Alan Sauce?

Well, Markieff didn't beat the hell out of someone's car and verbally intimidate a woman before we drafted him. It's not just one thing. I don't like drafting unlikable players but I guess we'll see.

This!

The Center position has been devalued in this era of the NBA. So, I don't see a reason the Suns will need to overpay for Len.

So, who is odd man out: I just wonder if there is a market for Chandler, two years 26m - doesn't seem bad for the right team.
