Summer League 2017
Hernangomez says he'd like to play "a couple of games".
Beasley's almost a lock to be there.
Murray? Maybe, probably at least for a part of the time.
Mudiay? Not so sure, but it might be a good idea.
Think Miller might be there? Just to visit and encourage? Maybe to help coach if that's allowed by the league? Hmmm...

Re: Summer League 2017
Murray probably depends on where he's at given surgery rehab at that time?
Summer League is Beasley's show, for sure. Really hope he can be the guy down there. The only other must-play is our rookie this year, unless it's OG and he's not healthy. Always enjoy SL!

Agree but I'm hoping Radicevic & Cornelie are there - I still think there's a place for them on the Nuggets. Not sure what place: Radicevic could be a 5th or 6th guard or even a 3rd/4th SF maybe. I have more hope for Cornelie as at least a 3rd string center/PF.

Don't know if he's eligible or not, but Mudiay needs to be there

Not sure what the rules are, but I know it's typically 1st & 2nd year players. Teams seem to think others probably aren't learning much during summer league. If the Nuggets don't draft a PG, they'd certainly be able to play Murray and Mudiay both.

Well, JR Smith played for Nuggets once and he wasn't 1st or 2nd year player.

Re: Summer League 2017
JR Smith volunteered to play summer league that one year when he was going by Earl and wanted to be more serious. I have never heard of the 2 year rule for summer league, but I do know that there is a 2 year or injury rehab rule for the D-league. If Mudiay were to play summer league this summer than I would hope they have him playing off the ball and working on his spot up shooting, he is a solid spot up shooter but with some improvement he could become a weapon as a guy who can play on the ball with shooters on the court and off the ball with Jokic running the offense.

Heard Murray is already rehabbing, can actually do some jump-shooting already

Beasley will be down in SL, expect him to dominate there. Can't wait to see him and Juancho build some more chemistry.

When asked how Fascism starts, Bertrand Russell once said:

Looks like Nikola Radicevic and Petr Cornelie will join Juancho in the SL in July. Start of an interesting summer here in Denver (or Vegas)

Re: Summer League 2017
Well, our Summer League just got interesting, Looking forward to seeing what Monte Morris can do. Hope our offense can make players out of Lyles, Lydon and Cancar, Wonder if Lydon can play the SF ??

It seems unlikely Lyles will play in the summer league. Cancar might be a question as a 20 year old stash.
Seriously doubt Lydon can play SF. He's rather slow afoot. Everyone talked about needing rim protection and a quick leaper and generally quick PF next to Jokic. Lydon looks like the guy that's going to make his rethink our view on Jokic as being too slow.

Re: Summer League 2017
3 Summer Leagues - Orlando, Utah, Las Vegas
Orlando & Las Vegas overlap on dates
Orlando has 8 teams scheduled
Utah has 4 teams scheduled
Las Vegas has 24 teams scheduled including Denver
Orlando has 5 games per team
Utah has 3 games per team
Las Vegas has 5 games per team minimum with some playoff games
There are a few teams that play in two of the summer leagues. Only 6 skip Las Vegas.
Do you think there would be an advantage for a team to play in Orlando & Las Vegas or Utah & Las Vegas? Why?
No doubt there is added cost but perhaps a team that has multiple young players to evaluate might consider playing two different squads 5 games each?

Ready to set my DVR:
July 7 7 PM Houston NBA TV
July 9 3:30 Twolves ESPN2
July 10 5 PM Toronto ESPNU
July 12-17 playoff games
Of course I'll also be watching as many games as possible from all three summer leagues.

Having a part-time life can be boring.

Re: Summer League 2017
I see a lot of teams already signing players for their SL teams (many for ORL and UTH) seems again we're sitting back watching. Maybe they're just going to scout the other two tournaments

Why worry? They said they'd be aggressive. We know we can believe it because this isn't the first year they've said it.

Any chance you've switched from beer to kool-aid ??
