Who's a young PG with potential we could swap for Bledsoe?

Why not just keep Bledsoe? Its not like he's ancient or ultra expensive. Its doubtful that some random PG will be anywhere near as good. Keep Bledsoe and develop Ulis to take over for him in a few years.

I think the Ulis / Booker pairing would be very tempting for the FO long term, because they love talking about the young core chemistry and seemed active in exploring Bledsoe trades in the past few days.

Yeah, overall I'm happy with our "lack of activity". We were inquisitive and looking for a good deal, didn't find one and didn't panic.

Bledsoe/Ulis
Booker/DJJr/Reed
Jackson/Warren
Chriss/Bender
Chandler/Williams

I like the looks of that squad. Our youngins should get plenty of playing time with veteran leadership, plus I think we have well-balanced starters and bench. I think we buy out Knight or find a trade partner.

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I think that's the current course, but Bledsoe being on the roster for the time being is perfectly fine.

From my calculations we have $68m committed to 10 players.

That leaves $30m for 5 players.

Not Included: Len, Williams, Barbosa, Jones, Reed.

So basically it looks we could use the $30m to re-sign those guys or pass to sign others.

I'm personally still keen on Len for around $12m or less, if he's given starters minutes I think he could be a 13 / 10 / 2 player.

Well I can understand NY thinking that was a strange offer trading three SF's for a big.

If Josh Jackson becames transcendent for us, there were a few external events (luck) that went in our favour to get him.

- 76ers / Boston trade = 76ers don't take him at 3.
- Jackson doesn't work out for Boston = Boston don't take him at 3.
- NY reject trade = NY Don't take him at 3
- Lotto Balls = Fultz / Ball gone, Phoenix pick him.

I think we're due for some luck after hearing the Curry non-trade / Leonard sweating stories for a decade.

I have us at just around $74mil.

Bledsoe: 14.5
Knight: 13.62
Chandler: 13
Dudley: 10
Bender: 4.47
Barbosa: 4
Chriss: 3.07
Booker: 2.24
Warren: 3.15
Ulis: 0.91
Jones: 0.9
Jackson: 4.24

The cap will be 99.1, so we have about $25mil to spend on FA.

If my dreams could come true, we'd shed someone like Knight/Dudley for minimal salary return or Barbosa for nothing back. We'd then be able to sign Griffin to the max. Or even S&T Griffin for Warren/Heat 2018 and then resign Sauce.

Chandler/Sauce
Griffin/Chriss
Jackson/Bender/Jones
Booker/Knight/Barbosa
Bledsoe/Ulis

I didn't include the Barbosa and Jones contract options as I think a decision still has to be made on those.

I've always liked Rubio but for $13-14m a year, I'd rather keep Bledsoe

Free Agency opens in a week.

Be interesting if Len and Williams get offers or if we sort it out ourselves.

Big Sauce:
15.1 MPG 7.4 points 2.0 offensive rebounds 4.2 defensive rebounds 0.6 steals 0.7 blocks 2.7 fouls
PER36 17.6 points 4.8 offensive rebounds 10.1 defensive rebounds 1.4 steals 1.6 blocks 6.4 fouls
In games with 30+ minutes (3 games): 14.0 points 13.7 rebounds 2.0 steals 1.3 blocks 4.3 fouls

Alex Len:
20.3 MPG 8.0 points 2.0 offensive rebounds 4.6 defensive rebounds 0.5 steals 1.3 blocks 3.1 fouls
PER36 14.1 points 3.6 offensive rebounds 8.2 defensive rebounds 0.9 steals 2.3 blocks 5.6 fouls
In games with 30+ minutes (6 games): 12.3 points 11.3 rebounds 0.7 steals 2.7 blocks 3.3 fouls

I say lock up Big Sauce real quick (shouldn't be hard given he's a hometown kid), and let Len go.

Ulis not playing this year? He was one of my favorite things about last year's Summer League squad.

Ah, that's right. Well, it should be interesting. Maybe we go Jackson - Reed - Jones Jr - Chriss - Bender. Experiment with Jackson running the offense. Not that he'll need to once the season starts, but letting him get some burn wouldn't be a bad thing.

At this point, not moved Bledsoe either. I just don't see "Knght" as the guy - his photo on Instagram not withstanding of him working out.

I mention Barbosa as a candidate to not be back from a perspective that if he was traded before July 3 - he only counts 500k against the cap. So for a team trying to save cap money (e.g Houston Rockets for Beverly) - maybe the Suns can have added his contract to make the numbers work and than he is waived.

But at this point - the time to move him was so he could be traded/waived before July 1. I doubt that will happen now. Which is fine - other contracts to move - Knight for Shumpert is my trade and dammit, I am sticking by it. :D

As for the center position - I think you keep Sauce and see what value there is for Chandler or you let Len walk -- you don't need all three that's for sure.
