He's not slow for a PF either, I saw him switching on defense and easily staying in front of SF's.

Kevin Love and yan Anderson are slow. Bam isn't. He's very mobile for his size, better athlthe than Ibaka IMO.

If you're right, it's a bust pick.

If my hopes materialize, he's the PF of the future.

This is a guy with a 7'3.5 wingspan who can shoot and handle the basketball. He can hang inside with bigs, has the versatility to switch everything, and can run the floor with the best of them.

I certainly see him as a Serge Ibaka level talent, with more mobility

Did you get a chance to read this article? Hard not to get excited after reading this. Anyone on the fence about Bam should really take the time and read every bit of it. I'm extremely excited about our pick.

We don't need to know about him because you know everything about everybody.

A better Serge Ibaka at 14. Great job Heat

What did you guys want at 14? Kobe Bryant?

There is a solid chance Bam logs heavy minutes for us next year.

His floor is Bismack, his ceiling is a KG type big who can handle the basketball and shoot from distance.

With him and Whiteside on the floor together we will have amazing rim protection, and rebounding

Mitchell would have been ideal at 14, but this guy fits our current team much better.

I hope we retain Reed so Bam can develop as a true 4 next to Hassan, that would give us a great rotation of athletic bigs. If we bring everybody back

Dragic/TJ
Dion/Elington/Richardson
Mcgruder/Winslow
Bam/JJ
Whiteside/Reed

That team is very deep, and I like us coming out of the East. Really want to keep JJ and TJ on the bench together. Our second unit won us a ton of games last year, by being substantially better than other teams bench mobs.

I think you misunderstood. I would be incredibly pleasantly surprised if "Bam" was a better player than Ibaka and happy for that.

I found you truly amazing in that you have seen enough of him to tell me with such assurance that his floor is Bismack and his ceiling is KG.

I look forward to our appearance in the NBA finals next year too.

I prefer to wait and watch him play against NBA guys before I get excited. Playing against kids at school is not the same, playing in SL is quite a joke. Maybe reading an article is a good idea.

I'm just fuming, I'll give it time. I think he could be a great/good C. PF would surprise, 'specially cause he can't dribble... I don't know how he learns something like that on the fly

That could have been said about anyone we would have drafted.

It's either that they truly are basketball geniuses or youtube believers.

He can dribble just as good as Ibaka or Horford. How many Lamar Odoms out there that's not super stars.

I'll be honest, this guy was not on my radar AT ALL. Didn't read anything about him before the draft, hell - I don't think I even heard of him.

That being said, from what I've learned today his upside looks like Biyombo/Montrezll type if everything goes right. That's a pretty damn good bench player and a welcome replacement for Willie Reed. However, I would prefer to get something better with a lottery pick, I think backups bigs can be found in 2nd round/D-league.

Could Ibaka even shoot when he first got into the league? This guy has got potential. If he works with our shooting coaches he'll be fine.

He could not. He had good mechanics on his shot but that was it.

It's not impossible, but Ibaka is more of an outlier in this regard. Hope Adebayo is as well.

I'm fine with the pick but I'm not excited about it. This is like picking an offensive lineman in the NFL draft, no one's ever excited about drafting them in the first round but every fan knows they're important. If Bam can become a solid contributor on this team its all good in the end.

We'll see. Calipari doesn't let his bigs shoot and handle the rock. He can do both apparently. He's 19, give him time.

It's not even a big deal I just have a hard time believing a player that can't or barely ever dribbles can= a perimeter player which most 4's are in a vacuum. I've seen the video and have settled with the pick, never said that I thought he couldn't contribute but a player with more upside(of which a few were available) with a lottery pick would have felt more reassuring.

Give me some time to settle, I'm just too old school. If you're still in range, you go with the upside pick imo It doesn't matter anyhow

I wish there was a way to see some Google Analytics starting with when we drafted Bam to about 4 hours out...

The absolute utter disgust that gradually morphed into love and hope was a beautiful thing to watch.
