He has a very quick trigger, doesn't seem like a hopeless draft and stash to me. Although he's a mediocre athlete so question marks how he would be in the NBA.

Ying and yang, should complement Allen pretty well

Pretty sure Marks manages the international scouting department well as per the Spurs, Atkinson spent much time in Europe too.

Intriguing Euro player. This is a good pick. He is also efficient.

That release is rapid, I'm guessing he might come over next year then.

They spent an enormous amount of resources and manpower scouting Europe. Every spare coaching or FO staffer went overseas in addition to the scouts in order to cover as much ground as possible. So I trust their judgment here. He may not amount to much given how late he was picked, but it won't be for lack of due diligence.

Besides, we always knew that a euro-stash was a high probability given the roster spot crunch.

Congrats to you...me and my Mavs friends wanted him since 2015 but somehow the FO is clueless. He is a top 5 talent in europe and can play SF and PF. Defense isn`t great but his offense his incredible. Great shooter and good finisher at the rim with playmaking ability.
He could be one of the biggest steals in the draft.

A left handed shooter!! And he's tall. Difficult to block him at the three point line.
Most NBA stats aren't credible. At most times the people who interprets those data are biased, or the data themselves are flawed. Basketball is just too complicated with so many uncontrollable variables.

Just to let everyone here know, he actually goes by the name Sasha Vezenkov, and not Aleksandar Vezenkov. But evidently, the NBA wasn't aware of that.

He can't play SF. No one that watches him play in EuroLeague thinks he can play SF. He's a 100% pure stretch 4.

I doubt it. He has two years left on his contract with Barca. I would say it's almost a zero chance he would be in the NBA before that contract ended.

this dude looks like a player.... he is like that crafty annoying dude on other teams that doesnt necessarily start or score a ton but always kills you with timely plays and threes and is always in the right spots.

can he come over now? he is 22 i think. woudl prefer he come over sooner

I seriously doubt it. He has two years left on his contract with Barca. Unless his buyout is really low. But even then, he is no way ready for the NBA. He is just barely beginning to be good enough to hang in a EuroLeague rotation of a bad team. He definitely needs more development time.

Half our team isnt ready for the NBA

that why i want him over here... i believe our development team is as good as it gets and we offer a rare opportunity to develop vs nba competition without penalty for poor play.

In other words...you want him to help tank. Well, in that case then, I would guess you need at least $3 million in guaranteed salary over 2 years to match his contract and buyout with Barca.

Why would we tank? we have no pick.... its about develing our young players an i dont think we can develop them better overseas then here.

we have 30 million in cap room. buy out is not an issue
