Ainge was lying anyway. Traded the first pick saying he'd still get the same guy at 3. If it was Tatum then why schedule a workout that close to the draft with Jackson.

He thought Jackson and Tatum where about equal, and wanted to work them out, so he could make his choice.

Isaiah turned into an all-star, it was a very 1 sided trade. Ryan got ripped off in the trade, and wanted to **** Ainge over, because he "is very competitive".

Revenge isn't the right word, the trade was done fair and square. More like sour grapes.

No one wanted IT. The Suns signed him that summer even though they had two point guards because they couldn't believe no one would sign him for even 8 million dollars a year. So they signed him and dealt him for the best pick they could get. He's not a guy for a rebuilding team to build a team around. He didn't screw the Suns because the Suns would have taken a better offer if there was one. They simply turned cap space into a first round draft pick by being smart.

For the Celtics, he's the perfect fit because they are loaded with defensive talent. He's not trying to get revenge for anything.

But he is pretty cold blooded. When I watched the press conference I couldn't believe he said that. I mean I can imagine GMs do that type of stuff all the time, but figure it's something they don't say out loud, much less to the media.

Its most likely that Suns promised Jackson heavy minutes next to Booker and a draft pick promise at 4... if he shuts down all other workouts.... THIS IS FAIR GAME.

So then he wanted Jackson, and then got upset and let an interview sway his decision.

Jackson rightfully didn't want to be buried behind Bostons 83 wings that will still be incoming in FA.

I don't know about revenge but it was kind of a dick move by the agent to cancel on the Celtics once they landed in Sacramento. Ainge already said yesterday that this incident didn't effect their decision to select Tatum because that's who they felt was the best in the draft however it wouldn't have hurt to atleast get a workout with Jackson see if there's anything that caught their eyes to think otherwise on the pick so I can see why Ainge would be somewhat mad.

Ainge had no interest drafting him when he held the first overall pick, didn't even approach his camp with any interest. Jackson at that time worked out for other teams and got a promise from the Suns. Ainge realizes that Fultz might not be the best prospect in the draft later, trades down a week before the draft.

Why would Jackson workout for Boston that late risking an injury when he knows he will be gone at 4? if anything, Ainge looks pretty sheepish going after Jackson late just to use him as a another trade asset.

Ainge is the type of person that if he really wanted Jackson he would have gotten him imo. I don't think he's the type that his feelings are hurt just because they cancelled on him so they didn't draft him.

Why would they work him out at #1, he's not #1 worthy. Turns out he's not even #3 worthy either.

Josh Jackson cancelled workout while Celtics were flying cross-country to him, and lied about it during the ESPN draft night

Stepping off the plane at Sacramento International Airport, Danny Ainge and his delegation turned on their phones to some infuriating news.

With Celtics Assistant GM Mike Zarren and head coach Brad Stevens on board, Ainge and the Celtics’ top brass had been informed by Josh Jackson’s camp that the workout they were flying coast to coast for had been abruptly cancelled.

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/19721347/phoenix-suns-thrilled-get-josh-jackson-fourth-pick-draft

ESPN: Suns Gm Ryan McDonough "we followed rules in Josh Jackson persuit"

"You guys know my connection to the Boston Celtics and the respect I have for Danny Ainge, but you guys also know how competitive I am and it is a competition," Suns general manager Ryan McDonough said Friday without elaborating much more. "The process is what it is and we played by the rules, I guess. I'm just thrilled Josh Jackson is sitting next to me and is a member of the Phoenix Suns."

He admits he had something to do with why Jackson blew off Danny Ainge's workouts. Imagine flying for 7 hours only to have someone cancel on you last second. All because McDonough felt taken advantage of in one sided Isaiah trade.

So what? McDonough isn't at fault. Jackson's agent is. They do this all the time. It's nothing new. The Suns GM likely promised to pick him at 4. So the agent blew off the meeting with Boston. It happens. If the Celtics liked him so much, they still had the opportunity to draft him. They didn't. Ainge is just trying to cover his ***. Your pointing the finger at the wrong individual.

After all that happened Josh Jackson camp scheduled a work out with Celtics, but made them fly out cross-country. After they made the flight he cancelled. :D

Just like Kawhi or IT weren't #1 worthy, or #3 worth apparently. What silly logic.

He's definitely worthy at 4. I would have taken him at 2. Gave him consideration at 1.
