He plays on Barca, one of the by far hugest sports clubs in the world....the absolute best training and coaching possible is available to him. Every single aspect of a club like that is at least average NBA level.

This might be issue if you are drafting players from Mega in Serbia, that Fraschilla was bragging about, and that is a really low level outfit. With a player that is in Barca, this has no relevance at all. Most NBA teams probably are not as professional as Barca is.

So you don't have to worry about how any player in a club that huge is "being developed".

zonedefense wrote:Congrats to you...me and my Mavs friends wanted him since 2015 but somehow the FO is clueless. He is a top 5 talent in europe and can play SF and PF. Defense isn`t great but his offense his incredible. Great shooter and good finisher at the rim with playmaking ability.
He could be one of the biggest steals in the draft.

He can't play SF. No one that watches him play in EuroLeague thinks he can play SF. He's a 100% pure stretch 4.

treiz wrote:That release is rapid, I'm guessing he might come over next year then.

I doubt it. He has two years left on his contract with Barca. I would say it's almost a zero chance he would be in the NBA before that contract ended.

He has a Bulgarian descent and in Bulgaria he would be called Sasho(rarely Alex is used for Aleksandar), but you are right, internationally Sasha is more popular because of the Serbs and Russians. His father was a famous bulgarian national player. My countryman's best skill is obviously shooting. Defense will be a concern in NBA as he's a little bit slow and mechanical in general, still as you said he is well coached, so he can find a role on a team, similar to Kuzminskas with the Knicks.

Yeah, his dad goes by Sasho, but he goes by Sasha, because he grew up in Greek section of Cyprus and Greece itself and because Greek is his first language. In Greek forms, it's Sasha, instead of Sasho.

Of course it can be written as Sasha (English form) or Saša, but it's pronounced in English how it looks like Sasha.

i believe the nets to be far and away the best place for NBA development in the world. no one else can match our combination of facilities, staff size, focus, AND allow there guys to play vs NBA competition at the same time.

The Nets are in a rare situation that they can develope their guys and work them out in real minutes vs NBA players 82 games. 0 pressure to win. 24/7/365 is all development.

i want the kid here ASAP

He's got some hops. I don't think he's less athletic than Teletovic.

Mediocre athlete, although he has improved in that regard since joining Barcelona. He's a very good offensive player, but he has athletic deficiencies on the other end. Hope he comes over and do well for you.

Shouldn't the nets have to actually develop someone before we call them the best at it

Vezenkov says he could come next year despite his contract ending in 2019.

”They say to me, they want me to stay a year in Europe, then we will see,” Vezenkov told Diema Sport, adding that “The most important thing is to be healthy.”

“I work a lot in the gym, the physical training, I want to improve myself. I'm still 22, I want to develop, I work every day on absolutely everything. I need more strength, speed, basketball qualities, but I work...

“Anyone who touches an orange ball, his goal is the NBA. I hope to play one day, too.”

Wonder how he compares to Mo Wagner and whether it would factor into the draft. Wagner is more of a big and him a wing it seems.
