"Grand Prize" for Summer FA?
CP3, Blake, Lowry and Milsap ... ...
Wasn't Milsap down to two before choosing Hawks over Magic?
If Playoff or "win now" is the goal, shouldn't we expect 1 or more FA to come?
Isn't it?

Re: "Grand Prize" for Summer FA?
Sigh. How many times do we have to go through this. Our team is trash. Our roster is trash. No quality FA wants to come to this garbage. Plus we don't have any salary cap space to sign anyone who is quality. If we rush the process we'll end up with players like Biyombo and Augustin. We'll get a high pick in 2018, have more cap space then and if something special develops with Isaac and AG then maybe we'll be somewhat on the map. I suspect it won't be until summer of 2020 before we are a relevant franchise again.
Orlando Magic are BACK!!!

Re: "Grand Prize" for Summer FA?
lol I guess you were on the other planet last few days and missed everything our management said.
Seems like we will stand pat I guess we will sign some fillers and thats it.They pretty much will take a year to evaluate what we got.
Like they didnt know what we've got.Should have ask Vogel or fans. Also Henningan firing and their hiring pretty much indicate what we ve got.
But it is what it is I woudnt expect much if I were You.

I think they indicated that they need to play the young guys more to see what they have. With the exception of Mario they are improving. Even EP with like a 509 efg% which is pretty good for a PG. Gordon has 3 years in the league but he's still 21.

Trade away terrence ross or fournier and sign......

Im not even being sarcastic, of all the real FA (curry/durant/hayward/blake/CP3 arent coming here), he would be the one that would make me the happiest to be an orlando fan.
But i honestly think he will end up on the cavs replacing JR Smith and be that shooter that lebron/kyrie need

Re: "Grand Prize" for Summer FA?
If the Magic make any significant free agent moves I'd be very surprised. Unless there's something being kept close to the chest we're going to have the same **** roster as last year except for Issac. Our only hope for fast improvement is an unlikely flurry of trades. When July 1 hits don't expect a lot. Milsap would be a great addition if this team was 1 piece away from breaking through, but we're 11 pieces away from breaking through.

I think he's referring to immediate impact players...we can overpay role players all we want.

Re: "Grand Prize" for Summer FA?
I've looked at the list a million times and I have not seen any significant names that I see as viable targets.
George Hill or Jeff Teague if we don't want Elf to start...but I would imagine we would have needed to find a taker for Watson or Augustine, first.
I'd love to see a S&T for Otto Porter Jr. but that is a very, very long shot.
There will not be a sexy name that we add, I can be certain of that.

Money and its a good thing we don't even have the ability to pay someone that kind of money. We only have about 12-14 mill in space which is about three or five mill less then what we gave Biyombo. Even if we had more money to spend it would not be wise to go after guys like Milsap or Reddick as we are a bad team and one player like that doesn't help us that much. At best maybe they get us into the 8th seed but may not. Meanwhile we miss out on getting another player of Issac's value in next years draft by trying to win now and we are saddled with a big contract for someone that is getting older and very well could be on the downside of their careers. By the time their deal is done would probably be about the same time as Isaac is starting to come into his prime. Most people are saying we have no business trying to win now. I don't know where you are getting that people think that.

yeah no thanks. Porter is restricted and I don't even have the cap space to offer him a max deal which Washington very well could still match. I like Teague and Hill but again I don't think we have the space there nor would I want to hurt our future cap. I think the focus should be preserving our future cap space and trying to create more. Keep building through the draft and use that cap space when guys like Isaac are just starting their prime and we won't necessarily have to overpay to attract people here.

Re: "Grand Prize" for Summer FA?
If the Magic renounce all their free agents, cut Watson AND dump Zimmerman, Georges-Hunt and Garino's non-guaranteed deals, they're still at 81.9M in committed salaries.
That would give them just 9 players under contract and only 17.1M in cap space. 17M gets you the Biyombo's of the world at this point.

Re: "Grand Prize" for Summer FA?
Would Magic build the team similar to Celtics?
By winning as much as they can, thus maximizes the value of players .
Then make a move or two.

If it were that easy...wouldn't everyone do it?
