Apparently Ricky Rubio is on the trade block. Anyone else kind of wish they could make a move to switch Bayless with Rubio? Sixers would have to add picks of some kind I'd guess

Ricky Rubio is a fine player, but what contextual sense does he make with this roster? I'm not even sure I'd look into signing him as a free agent, let alone paying any sort of pricepoint to bring him aboard via trade.

Not really.

Rubio is a guy who 1. can't shoot 2. can't score Hes a pass 1st, floor general ala Rajon Rondo who's limited offensive abilities hinders a team building around him. Even Minny realizes they need more spacing on the floor for Towns/Butler/Wiggins, hence why they have been trying to unload him for over a year now.

Think he's a terrible fit on our roster. The ball is going to be in Ben Simmons,Markelle Fultz,Joel Embiid's hands a TON. No value in adding a guy like Rubio to our roster, who's essentially useless standing around without the ball in his hands.

At least Bayless projects to have a role on our team. He can play both guard spots, score and shoot the ball from the perimeter which spaces the floor for Embiid/Simmons/Fultz.

Screw that idea. Offer him the max for 4 years. If they match that's the way it goes. But you don't trade assets for free agents!

There's never been a trade idea posted that involves Sixers players you liked, so I'm taking this as affirmation it's a good idea.

Agreed.

I really like him as a player, but not for us, especially after we got Fultz.

If he could just shoot the ball he would be a full on star. He is a true point guard that can run a team and defend, but unlike Fultz, he can't play off the ball.
