I feel the same way. Too much +EV taking Crowders production as a role player plus maybe a 75% chance to get a talent as good or better than Tatum.

My only reservation is if Danny has been telling the truth since he drafted him that he'd have been #1 no matter what. If he trades Tatum, we will know the trade down with Philly was just for the asset, and we can throw his 'top 4 were equal' claim out the door.

Predicting a GM's thought process is a dangerous game lol.

Celtics are not trading Jaylen Brown or Jayson Tatum. It would have to be for a star player like Anthony Davis, Kawhi etc.

They most certainly could be dealt. Moving out salary this year instead of the Lakers pick makes a lot of these two star scenarios much easier. I'm not saying we will but I think their is a shot.

I thought it was just me. It's pissing me off.

I wouldn't worry about it. It's old news and just speculation and common sense. Of course these guys are gonna listen. We have known this for awhile.

So the pacers want a High lottery pick.

Lakers or Memphis pick . This should be a done deal already. Make the lakers pick is not being included maybe that's why a deal hasn't be finalized.

George is a star, but I think Tatum is safe, maybe even moreso than Jaylen. A few people have pointed it out, but their whole introduction process with Tatum seemed different than Jaylen. It's like they want him to be the next face of the franchise.

I could be over analyzing of course, but Danny clearly LOVES him.

Tatum seemed excited. I hope he stays, I'd feel bad otherwise

Dude check out Mike Zarrens twitter even he said he wishes FA should be before the draft... everyone is waiting on FA to start before major trades happen.

Cs management have said they think Tatum can become a 25 ppg type guy.

That is Paul Pierce territory...or better.

He stays.

I believe it's true. Lebron wants to come to Boston after next year too so won't commit.

Paul George is a star, but i don't see the celtics trading Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum for him. I think any future deal would look like this.

Avery Bradley and Jae Crowder

Memphis pick but the Pacers would insist on it being the Lakers pick.

Maybe Terry Rozier and a future Boston pick.

No Jaylen Brown or Jayson Tatum. That is too much for a player that wants out, on the last year of his contract, and could just be a rental. Furthemore, you can't give away young players that could be the key in building a long sustained championship team both short term, and long term. To be a successful team, a mixture of established players, and young players are needed.

Keep swinging bud, you'll make contact eventually!

It's not just him, it's a quarter of the forum. I'm on the verge of making a thread about it but he's not even a Celtic, lol.

I agreed with this in February, but I think he raised his game from March on. Probably top 10-ish.

I think you have to judge a guy by a whole season, not the closing stretch. The Nets made that mistake with D-Will and the KG/Pierce trade.

The Nets trade was about a lot more than basketball for the Nets. It was about making them the biggest brand in NY.

Because of how things turned out we forget at the time it wasn't the slam dunk trade it is today. It was a good trade for the Celts at the time. But certainly not what it became. No one thought the Nets would fall apart as badly as they have. Deron was still pretty young and considered one of the better PGs in the league, and Lopez was young and considered one of the better Cs in the league. Even knowing KG/Pierce/Johnson would be gone pretty soon, the Nets looked like they would be good enough to be fighting for playoffs in the weak east. They were a 50 win team with Lopez/Williams/Johnson as their top 3 before Pierce/Garnett. They seemed like they'd be pretty good with Lopez/Williams in the future too.
