Unfortunately the Warriors already have 2 first bananas and 2 second bananas. It'd take a Durant/Curry injury IMO for even the Isaiah/Hayward/George/Horford combo to beat the Dubs.
That said, those two are injury prone and maybe I am underselling the C's/Stevens' ability to maximize talent once they gel.
We won't win right away sure but consider this..
Are the Warriors going to get better the next few years? They are as good as they are going to get
while we would have
Tatum Brown and Brooklyn 18 and Zizic getting better every year. No reason we couldn't win it all in 3 years
Well, Curry is 29, Klay 27, Dray is 27, KD is 28; plus they have McCaw and just added Bell and will repeatedly add ring-chaser vets on the cheap each season.
Point is, I wouldn't expect some sort of tail-off from the Dubs.
If Ainge assembles that "core four" without gutting all the future pieces like Tatum/Brown/BKN 18/LAL 18/Zizic - I'd be fine with it. I'd also just know that's likely to come up short without a Dubs injury or one of those young upside pieces becoming a star.
In a few years there tax bill could become like 300 million. I understand he'd like to pay the tax but at a certain point you start losing too much money no?
