Yes, yes it is. We need amazing two-way wings to compete with GS... the league is moving forward with small ball lineups

We already have short term starting options at PG and C. Out of the four guys you listed, I know they are all natural small forwards, but Brown and Hayward can play SG, and George and Tatum can play PF, so there are plenty ways to get all those guys minutes.

A rookie and a sophomore? Or two All Stars? Why is this even a question?

We can have both. So...let's have both.

This is my thinking too, but I think it would be a lot simpler if there was only three of them instead of four as I am not sure if there are enough minutes to go around. George/Horford and Tatum/Horford as front court combinations doesn't seem ideal but maybe it can work.

I agree, and this is how I was initially thinking about these possible moves for Hayward and George. I was thinking more long term, especially if Brown and Tatum develop as we all hope they will.

Losing Avery Bradley, and Jae Crowder to get Paul
George is worth it. He is better than both players. In whole NBA he is the 4th best Small Foward only behind Lebron James, Kevin Durant, and Kawhi Leonard. Paul George is a star and would turn the celtics into a championship contending team.

Look at what adding Al Horford did to the celtics. He turned from a 50 win team to a 53 win. It could have been more if he didn't miss a lot of games due to injuries. Imagine how many wins Paul George could add to the celtics. I am talking a 60 win team.

Statswise he's been somewhat inefficient. Hayward has actually been better than George last year, I can argue the year before that too. He's criminally udnerrated.
Good assessment:

Nope. Not on the level of those guys. Don't hear his name in MVP talk.

PG has the potential to be the best player on the court in any given game or series. He is without question a star. PG with the right guys around him can do serious damage. You can split hairs and say he isn't better than this guy or that guy but him not being a star is just nonsense.

Oh come on. He's not AD. Or Lebron. Or KD. Or Harden. Or Westbrook.

He's a better version of Jimmy Butler. And a cut below the true "stars".

Nobody is Lebron, including the other people you lumped in the same category. I didn't say he was THOSE people. I said he is a star. Just because there are other stars in the league that you would rather have, that doesn't make PG not a star. PG averaged nearly 24 points on 46 percent shooting and 6.5 rebounds a game shooting 90 percent from the FT line. That is a star, period. Was pierce not a star just because he wasn't as great as some other stars in the league like lebron KD etc? Let's be real. Yes, PG isn't Lebron or KD, but that doesn't make him not a star by default.

I would absolutely love Hayward and George or even one of those guys...but rolling into the future with Brown, Tatum, and a couple more lotto picks seems cool to.

a weird part of me wants that we don't sign a big name FA...
IT / Smart / anderson / Jackson
Bradley /Brown / Rozier / Bird
Crowder / Tatum / Ojeleye / Nader
Olynyk / Yabusele / Theis
Horford / Zizic.

IDK.. it just seems fun and promising and then we have a couple more top 10 picks to mix it up.

Paul George is just a better player than Gordon Hayward. I don't need so called stats to tell me that. Eye test says it all.

\I am with with you Afam. the dude had a down year this year, but still freakin exceptional. If we have to..or have the opportunity to choose I take PG without a doubt...however, with the uncertainty of him sticking around long term, i kind of think Hayward has a higher value....if that makes any sense.

This ^ It's like pierce battling lebron in game 7 of the ecf in 2008. Nobody in their right mind would argue pierce is the better player, but when it counted he went toe to toe with LeBron and held his own.. And because of that, we won a championship. PG is VERY much capable of doing the same. People are underrating this kid but they will see soon enough *hopefully* when he joins the C's.

Can the Pacers extend him first, increase his salary to $24m, add 2 years on to it before trading him? It'd be easier for them to create the cap space than us if we've already signed Hayward.

LOL like the Wizards have anything of value to offer Indiana...

What an idiot Wall is. George can push Indiana to trade him to any team in the league, but it makes no difference unless that team has assets that interest the Pacers.

Unless they're trading Beal or Wall himself, the Wizards got no chance in hell in getting PG.

I can see a sign and trade with Otto if Indiana wants him. He is a good young piece. Idk what his max is going to be, but I assume high enough so that a Otto and Oubre + a future first for George and Ellis works cap wise. Would be an easy package to beat for a lot of teams but they might not want to risk it for the rental.
