I'm with you guys... I can't figure out why Russell is consistently portrayed as the villain in the whole Nick Young fiasco.
Russell wasn't the one cheating on his fiance...

Russell wasn't the one cheating on his fiance...
Because we live in the social media age. We have adopted a generation of followers. People think that's just a nice way of saying 'friends' on social media but IMO, social media has created more people to be sheep which are followers.
Iggy Azalea was getting heat for culture appropriation. She's viewed as the Vanilla Ice of this generation right now. The Hip Hop community couldn't stand her so it was easier to make fun of her being cheated on and D'angelo for snitching than to blame it on Nick Young who was pillow talking to a teammate which is a no-no for any man in a committed relationship.
Russell won't live this down until he becomes an all-star and wins games here which is unfair considering Nick Young moved on. Iggy moved on. Yet, he's still a media punching bag.

He clearly made a mistake, you don't rat our your homie in that manner. Just like with any relationship, once the trust has been broken, its very difficult to regain. Similar to the end result of Iggy splitting up with Nick Young, the Lakers have done the same with DLo, Sometimes the healthiest solution is for both parties to move on.
I've been critical of Magic but he may have a point when I think about it more closely. To be a leader, you need to have the trust of your teammates and I think that incident pretty much disqualified DLo from becoming a true leader with the Lakers. Magic knows more about leadership in basketball than any of us, he just didn't sugar-coat his opinion.
But anyhow, that is the past and I'm sure DLo wants to turn the page on that chapter to focus on the present and the future. He's a young kid, everybody makes tons of mistakes through their lifetime and hopefully they learn from them.

It's garbage like this that helps push that agenda and narrative of accepting and glorifying clowns like Nick Young.

Oh look, ESPN found another professional **** stirrer to replace skip bayless. Yes, lets make a mountain out of a molehill.
Cassidy Hubbarth is being wasted on that garbage show.
I really liked John Salley's commentary as opposed to this Cassidy guy who expects DLo to respond in an all righteous grandeur way after getting publicly criticized by his former employer. DLo has had to deal with the situation privately to Nick and his teammates for a year, he doesn't need to make a public apology after getting traded to satisfy this douche-nozzle.

Cassidy is the beautiful woman that was sitting next to the windbag who was trying to twist Russell's words into something out of context.

Nice, thx! Wouldn't be right if he models his game on Manu and doesn't have the Euro step. It's very useful for smaller wings who aren't ultra athletic, like Harden, Manu and old-Wade.

I'm a Lin fan, and I want BOTH to play lights-out. There's nothing to discredit. Lin is an ex-Laker. Russell is an ex-Laker. They suffered the Byron Scott Foxhole and escaped a crap culture for a much better one.
There's even a weird-as-hell "kinship" from having played for and been mostly tossed aside by that team.
Lin is thriving while healthy. I fully expect Dloading to do the same.
Cheers to that.

Re: Official D'Angelo Russell Thread
The unit of D’Angelo Russell, Nick Young, Luol Deng, Julius Randle, and Timofey Mozgov posted +6.0 net rating in 406 minutes.
If Russell can make that lineup look good, then putting him next to Lin, and some shooters will make him look like a borderline All-Star. Jeremy Lin will also help Russell increase his field goal percentages. With the Lakers, 1. he had no spacing, and 2. He was the only player that could create shots for himself/others. He had way too much responsibility, and even though he still played really well. His efficiency was lacking. Now with the Brooklyn Nets, he has another player that can help him get easier shots for him, and for other players. Brooklyn Nets are going to look much better next year, and Russell will improve his efficiency.

Re: Official D'Angelo Russell Thread
NO ONE on the Nets last year cared about stats.
That I know of. These guys had unusually high spirits for "being so bad", and just kept playing hard (vs. playing selfishly) almost every game (remember those last two months of the season?)
This culture will persist, and Dloading should blend in nicely with the standard that's already been set, unless Nets get stupid and land some locker room poison FA. Which they're highly unlikely to.

Slava is the GOAT, I'm not even joking.
But yeah, I'm going to catch as many Nets games as possible.

Well, I guess you're of the same gang or a vested interest. (mods here are far better, impartial and objective, you shall see)

No one played for stats. The only player that had tunnel vision was Sean Kilpatrick, and I don't even think that was out of selfishness, the guy only knows how to do one thing: shoot
