Wanamaker to the Celtics or Pelicans?

Post#1 » by Gant » Tue Jun 27, 2017 4:49 pm

If the Celtics roster gets gutted in trades for stars, this is a good pick up. I saw him play a decent amount since he was Zizic's teammate for Darussafaka Dogus. He can score.

He didn't pass to Zizic though. No one on that team passed to Ante.

The fact that he's even considering Boston does mean there could be a major roster overhaul with at least a couple of guards going out. Otherwise New Orleans would be a much better choice for him.

Maybe he'd be a 2-way contract guy.

Every time I see the name Wanamaker, I'm reminded of the famous quote:

“Half the money I spend on advertising is wasted; the trouble is I don't know which half.”

I don't really see a connection in this case, however.

He averaged 16.7 ppg 3.1 rebounds 4.5 assists 1.5 steals 0.1 blocks playing 33.5 minutes a game. Shot .448 fg and .386 from 3. Efg% of .517

He's 27 so this is no 2 way guy he'd probably be a 3 and D although I heard he sucks at d

DA is definitely exploring cheap and creative ways of possibly filling out the roster if we end up top heavy

yep. If the Hayward/George plans works out, the Cs will need two bench guards to back up IT, Smart and Jaylen. Wanamaker fits the description. Better him than Jabari Bird.

This whole thing is just a scheme to get Brad all the 25 year old NBA wannabes he missed on recruiting five years ago.

For the min? Sure why not, he would just offset one of the cap charges anyways. When I watched Ante online, Wanamaker was the best player on the team.

I'm going to get a Wanamaker t-shirt if we sign him.

I have seen many games of Wanamaker during his last two seasons in europe. He was arguably one of the best guards overseas
without any doubt. Maybe only players like De Colo or Teodosic played on the same level. His decision making is top notch, he scores in any given set-ups from everywhere. He can absorb contact because of his impressive upper Body strength....

If you guys can get him in for a backup guard spot you should be satisfied - great pick up.
(he also played alongside Daniel Theis during his days at Bamberg)

Pretty much this. Hes targetting guys with exp, good athletic ability and 3 pt shooting.
Good assessment:
