On court fit is a pretty hot topic right now but how do you guys feel about the chemistry fit?

CP3 is and always will be an alpha dog with a Napoleon complex, while Harden is a very passive aggressive leader (not a knock IMO).

I could easily see CP3 rubbing Harden the wrong way, he doesn't really respond well to all that rah rah stuff.

I don't know, where was CP3 steering it? This core clearly didn't work. It's time to try something else besides perennial 1st round exits.

I wouldn't be concerned with Paul and Harden together for ball handling. Houston REALLY needed another ball handler because most of their entire roster is just shooters and Harden had to do way too much. That part should work just fine I think.

Still not better than Cleveland but yeah def top 4

The Rockets are better than the Cavs with just CP3 and Harden.

What was his incentive to tell the Clippers? Beverley and Williams would have been really good guards to have in their backcourt along with CP3.

the 5th year is only possible if he gets sign and traded

Can't forget Lou Williams who put up 18 ppg and won 6th man what two years ago? He's not a guy you want taking 20 shots, but he does have value.

Bulls get: Top 24 protected future first, conveyed to 2 2nds after 2022
Rockets get: Rondo

Then ship rondo to the clippers in that deal. Cut rondo and only 3 mil go to the cap.

Ok so clippers are rebuilding then. Understandable but why not try to get some more picks at least? But cant blame doc 100% for this trade because paul told him that he will go to houston so they got something back at least

What are you talking about?

This was a sympathy trade.

If the Clippers asked for more then CP3 would have just signed with the Rockets.

Eh, yes and no. It is EASIER to trade with one team than having to find a team to take a bunch of players off your hands, although yes, Rockets didn't have to help the Clippers really. Also considering the scenario of CP3 walking for nothing, Dekker+Beverley+a 1st rounder for next year is actually a really solid haul. Dekker is a talented prospect who hasn't gotten many chances in Houston. No telling if he will be good or not but at least it's a 22 year old who may find a role.

Rockets were trying to clear Anderson/Beverely either way. Houston seems to want to get either PG or Melo fast. Now they have a taker for beverly im sure they would have listened. Why not give up picks their team is set

The Clippers have $44,466,762 committed to Jamal Crawford, Louis Williams, Patrick Beverly and Austin Rivers.

Add Derrick Rose an you have yourself a Super Team.

Austin's contract isn't even that bad. Jamal's was and is still super idiotic.

D'antoni is going to have to figure this one out... How do you run your offense now with two players that need the ball as much as they do? Paul has a high ego to which he will bitch and moan if he isnt running the offense and you heard it hear first that I am not a believer this would work out. You will be hearing reports of "disgruntled paul" or harden next season and an overall drop off of the Rockets. Harden was putting mvp type numbers as the starting PG, where is he going to play Paul to where they share the spot light? If the secondary playmaker was such an issue they could have gotten a back up pg that can do that without getting in hardens way

Harden as a point guard was a success already and I think they were a star PF/C away from making noise along with PG or Melo. But if they do shell out their bench just to get melo (another ball dominant player who probably still hates D'antoni) then I guarantee you this experiment fails

I understand the concerns about the fit, but I think both cp3 and the beard are just happy to have a 2nd real ball handler on their side who cna create for himself and others. Rockets will be fun to watch
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

He finished the year averaging 9.1 points and 3.8 rebounds in 18.3 minutes per game. His per-36-minute stats look sparkling: 17.8 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks. He finished the year shooting 65.2 percent from the field, which was an increase from his rookie season.

He also had an effective 15-game stretch in December/January filling in for starting center Clint Capela, who was out with a leg fracture. During that time frame, Harrell averaged 14.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. He also had a 29-point game and a 28-point game. He had a four-game stretch where he was in double-digit points scored every game. Other than Nene, he was the most physical front court player on the Rockets.
