So you said all that and didn't say anything to disprove that Walsh wasn't under pressure to win immediately when he took the job (which was what I responded to) or disprove that he kept Dolan away for multiple seasons (which is the other thing people say only PJax can do).

I'm not saying Dolan is some great owner who trusts his people. I'm saying the idea that we would trade all our picks the moment PJax is gone doesn't add up based on the past.

Mpharris I would give you an and1 but I'm to lazy to go back a few threads. Great post.

You're also too lazy to actually read what's being discussed and see his post has nothing to do with what was said. Wouldn't be the first time.

I agree on what he said about Walsh. That was just beautiful, I couldn't have said it better myself. Do you mind giving him the and1 for me? Just tell him it was from me and not you. Thaaaanks.

That's not something they have any power over. In fact, players sometimes take paycuts to help their team sign players, and the NBAPA has absolutely zero power to stop them. Dirk, Kirelenko, David West, etc, etc. Why didn't the NBAPA stop them, but for some reason you think they will force Melo to pick up his option?

They opted out that's different.

In terms of negotiating a buy out if Melo(one of the heads of the NBPA) said I'll decline my player option just let me go the NBPA would be really pissed off because now when other players negotiate buy outs with multiple years left on their deals they can point to a situation where a player of high regard(Melo) left a full years salary on the table.

You obviously have no idea how these things work in sports.

Example;

Alex Rodriguez was playing for the Texas Rangers and they couldn't afford his contract any longer and were trading him. The Boston Red Sox had agreed to a deal only if A-Rod would renegotiate his deal, he agreed but the MLBPA wouldn't allow him to do so because it would set a precedent going forward where teams would ask and expect players to oblige. A-Rod ended up on the Yankees obviously.

It's not about having power, they negotiate the CBA to favor the players, Melo would literally be giving ownership ammunition to use against the NBPA. It's why everyone knows CP3 can't pass up on the Clippers max contract offer for less money elsewhere because he's the head of the NBPA. For once take off the "I hate Melo" mindset and just look at things without your typical bias.

This sh*t is chess it aint checkers.

If it reaches that point, Jackson has the ability to make Anthony's life miserable — i.e. sticking the 33-year-old on the bench of a terrible team at the end of his prime. Or, they can come to the most unlikeliest of resolutions at this point — make amends.

I would be glad to. First let PJax run this franchise like a normal organization and not as a means to stroke his own ego.

 Phil, ultimately, holds all the cards. And he knew it all along. Melo has every reason to waive.

I was ridiculed for suggesting Melo to the rockets before but now perhaps we can discuss

sadly Beverly is the one player I want on that team

to make it work now it'd have to be 3 way or

Houston gets Melo
NY gets Gordon, Capella, Ariza

their team is gutted but they can amass ring chasers join Harden, Melo, Anderson, Paul, whatever

Carmelo to Houston, Ryan Anderson and Trevor Ariza to Denver and Wilson Chandler, Jameer Nelson and Malik Beasley to New York.

Houston gets its Big 3 and Carmelo becomes the 3rd option and plays with one of his best friends, Denver gets Kevin Love-lite in Ryan Anderson and Ariza, who can help replace Danilo once he leaves, and we get ourselves a stop gap point guard for a year in Jameer, bring back Will the Thrill to start at the 3 and take a shot on a young player in Beasley.

Rockets aren't trading Capella. Didn't Nene and Mike D both just blast Melo?

Is this a real proposal?

Melo does not have this kind of trade value. Not in a million years.

Also D'Antoni doesn't want Melo around.

C'mon folks, how many teams out there want a 33 year old player that have ZERO playoff success and also known as a defensive liability????

This is 3 years too late....

If Melo truly cared about winning, he won't have taken the max deal 3 years back.

Melo will eventually be traded. Probably to the Cavs for Love.

Exact proposal I made when word got out about cp3. Was punched for it. Now there's a speculative article out on it.

Who should then be turned into a lottery pick, or a young player who could guard a trash can.
