What teams have cap space for Blake? Would he even want to go to Rockets to hang with CP3 and Harden? How would he get the ball.
I think he stays in LA for two reasons
1) most money
2) Alpha player now - if healthy, ball goes through him and he can score 30ppg
IF Healthy
Again, I thought there was no incentive for him to stay with the Clippers, as in they cannot offer him anymore than other teams can in free agency? I could be wrong though.
They can if he wants to sign for 5 years. But he may want to only sign a 3 year deal with a PO for year 4. I believe at 3 years he hits 10 in the league and he can sign a new deal for 35% of the cap as opposed to the 30% he will get this off season.
Over three years the difference between the Clips and what other teams can offer him is negligible especially if you take into account the high income tax rate in CA.
What is weird about his situation is that he was drafted in 2009 so he should have 8 years of NBA experience and only be looking to sign a 2 + 1. But he sat out the first year in the NBA. Didn't play a game because he busted his knee cap. Does that year count? He won rookie of the year in 2010-2011.
