T-Mac, Vince, Barkley, Paul, etc. never won. Was Melo ever a top 5 player for an extended period? I say no, so you can't really fault him for never winning. A lot of it is based on dependent variables around you.

There's a difference between faulting someone and realizing he can't be your top paid player and expect to win. Melo's built a career off of the belief that PPG correlates to winning, when there's zero correlation.

The team who scores the most points wins.

That's the only stat with 100% correlation.

The team who wins the most possessions wins.

is there any reason to believe Melo would waive the clause for anything? I think even a guaranteed championship wouldnt be enough incentive to leave at this point....he likes the zero pressure and the city more than anything else.

You posted stats then ran away.

TS% is not everything.

Doesn't DeAndre have the highest TS% of any player?

This is unbelievable, if true.

Like, unbelievable that in 3 years I've never seen anything about this. What are these journalists doing? I mean, why go fact checking when you can make things up.

The team that maximizes their possessions the most wins the game. Why do you think the Warriors win so much? A missed shot is a lost possession. Not hard. The Knicks have an inefficient offense equating in lost possessions.

And you can still lose a game doing that.

But you'll never lose when you score more points than the other team.

The game of basketball will always be about buckets.
