The notion that they were unbeatable with KD is only coming out after the season. There were plenty of people who predicted other teams to win the FInals or even the WCF. Interest this season was sky high as evidenced by the Finals ratings being the highest since Jordan's Bulls.

Just who were these "plenty of other people" that predicted GS wouldn't make it out if the west?

This season's champions were a foregone conclusion the moment KD signed whether people want to admit it or not

Read through the past threads and find people predicting San Antonio and Cleveland. If you truly believe Golden State is unbeatable then go to Vegas and bet on it. Vegas gives them a 63.6% chance to win the 2018 Finals. They opened with a 66.7% chance to win the 2018 FInals but not enough people were betting on Golden State so they lowered the odds. One of the biggest favorites ever? Yes. But a far cry from a championship being a "foregone conclusion".

The Warriors had 3/2 odds going into the season. For comparison sake the Patriots, a team comming off a championship season, with one of the best ever playing at the games most important position, with arguably the best coach in history and having added talent left and right this offseason, are being given 17/5 odds for this comming season.

No its not 100% but damn if conclusions weren't drawn before the season

Blake could fit well in Miami. Could make sense for him to want to get out of the West.

With the lux tax providing a harder cap, teams are eventually going to realize that you get a *lot* more bang for your buck by throwing an extra 10m at a top GM.

This is the kind of advantage we thought 3 billionaire owners might be able to figure out, but apparently they've gone the opposite
direction. How much better would everybody feel now if we'd hired Ujiri? I mean, ****.

Should be a poll, honestly.

Blake is a lot softer than Durant. Blake gets beat up on and pushed around and he doesn't do anything besides hide behind DeAndre.

It is COMFORTABLY the worst odds a favorite has ever had in the NBA/NHL/MLB/NFL.

And I would still easily take the bet if I didn't have to wait for a year for the outcome.

Lol, props to Rachel Nichols for tweeting that. I'm guessing John Hammond had to change his cell number about three or four years ago?

Honestly man? I'll pass

Not that there's anything wrong with Ujiri, but there is something about loaded owners in a big market trying to impress the crowds with their new shiny executive that scares the crap out of me. Because before you know it instead of Ujiri you might end up with Phil Jackson/Isiah Thomas/GarPax/Magic Johnson signed on a guaranteed 5 year contract equal to the GDP of a small african country.

Some of these owners are just glorified accountants who hit it big in the shares market, I don't want the risk of them trying to make impressive basketball moves. It's GMing we're talking about here, you don't necessarily need a genius, I'd feel just fine sticking with a sane, experienced guy with a logical career progression. Promoting internally is fine with me*

*as long as it's done in a logical way.
