I wouldn't worry about it being a 3 or 4 year deal. This dude is tough as nails and has a game that will (continue to 8-) ) age well. If he is a viable signing, give him 3 w a player option. He is a positive addition now and in 3-4 years.

Perhaps McDo can shake this sister kissing routine and land an all star.... however, IMO, one is not enough.

Blake Griffin is meeting with us on Saturday? Why are we talking about Milsap then?

Frank Lee wrote:I'd add Griffin or Milsap in a heart beat. Its called premium talent. I doubt Bender is ready for big time minutes on a team trying to make the playoffs. Chriss is barely ready. You 'youthers' need to exercise as patience with these 20 year olds as you have already projected them into stardom. Another year of good solid practice and reasonable valid playing time when it means something will aid in their development. Winning goes along ways too. This squad needs to feel like they are playing for something, other than to not get blown out. If we sacrifice some Bender or Chris playing time to get the rest some playoff experience then Id say thats a fair trade off in 'development'. And like it or not, All these kids save a few, are also assets that can be used in trades. You can't predict what McDo is up to, but you can recall his strategy of adding solid draft picks, collecting assets, then trading or signing an available star(s) He said himself

Sign Griffin/Milsap then trade for Boogie ???? oh brother.

I'm perfectly fine with getting Blake, makes sense since we didn't pull the trigger on a Bled deal on draft night. I think we can get Blake to play the 5 as a hybrid/new center type. If not we keep Sauce to deal with the bruisers in the league, where there's very starting to get less and less of. Early in his career I seem to remember hearing he didn't want to play C but with the league going the way it is, I think it makes sense. He has developed a decent post game and I think he'd be fine with it.

Man, it's hard to think a lineup of Bled/Book/JJ(TJ)/Chriss/Blake wouldn't make a run at even possibly a 5 or 6 seed if healthy.

Bled/Ulis
Book/??
JJ/TJ
Chriss/Bender
Blake/Chandler

Williams and Chriss will be our centers while Griffin and Bender will be our PF's.
This will also probably be enough to land McD his extension

Unless the Suns can unload a salary like knight or chandler to a team with cap space the only way they can get even close to the amount of cap room necessary for Blake would be to rescind the QO's to both Williams and Len.

And I do not think it's a given that some team with cap space would just take Chandler for free so you can't count on that option.

Even though we probably won't land Blake, it's always fun being in the sweepstakes every year. It shows that PHX is still a destination that players will consider and gets the media talking about our team. I think its a win-win situation for us because we have a plan already set in place regardless of getting a big free agent.

I am more than ok with Blake here, with our medical staff getting to work on him early in the offseason he might be able to get back sooner than December. Make it happen McD.

I do not think we are a serious option for him. Like LeBron or Aldridge before, he is gonna give us a meeting, but we are a long long shot.

Millsap is a more realistic option.

Go back and look historically at bigs ages 32-35. It's a scary how many just fall apart in that age range. Father time is undefeated.

I see Blake as a good fit and think that our training staff can fix him. The Clippers are known to have one of the worst medical staffs in the league after all.

I don't know that many or any are against Blake but want Taj. I won't be disappointed if we sign Blake, but I'd probably rather just stick with the youth movement and let them gradually improve like GS and OKC did and then add a vet when they are on the cusp of the playoffs. The one thing I really do like with Blake is that he is a very willing passer. He is a pretty poor rebounder and doesn't block anything though so we'd suffer rebounding, though I imagine if we sign him we'll start Chandler for that purpose and Chriss would go back to the bench.

I think either will have more attractive options. I know a bunch of teams want Millsap. I haven't heard any for Blake except Boston but they are focused first on Hayward and George...which is a bit odd considering they have Crowder, Tatum and Brown. They could use a big.

Hmmmm... a healthy Griffin

Bledsoe
Booker
JJ
Griffin
Chris

I don't know... I might just like to start Bender at the 4 and see what we have. And Blake is injured!?!

I prefer other players over Griffin. Not a fan. He is good and bla bla bla, but I do not like his game at all.

And defensively he is BAD, and we do not have here DeAndre Jordan to cover him. I would pass.

The Thunder is another option for Griffin. They want him.
