Interesting that they offered $75K and Bowers turned it down, offered $250K and Bowers turned it down and finally offered a cool $1,000,000 before Detroit accepted. I guess at least we didn't completely roll over to help Houston build another super team.
They traded for Jared Uthoff today who also has a contract that isn't guaranteed. They're probably not done making moves yet. This is their roster without considering the contracts that aren't guaranteed:
Paul
Harden / Gordon
Ariza
Anderson
Capela / Onuaku
That's a little thin. With the contracts that aren't guaranteed you can add Shawn Long, Isaiah Taylor, Ryan Kelly, and Tim Quarterman but none of those four are depth worth mentioning. A move for another quality forward has to be coming, although I'm not sure what assets they have to get anything done/ Capela isn't going anywhere. Maybe Gordon, but he completes their three-guard rotation to well. Ariza won't be traded since he was a reason Paul wanted to go to Houston in the first place. Then there's Anderson, who has negative value.
The only thing that really makes sense to me is a S&T for Millsap with Atlanta taking back Ryan, but the Hawks actually have to want him. But they might. Money has to be spent somewhere and they aren't a free agent destination. Anderson fits with that roster and system too. That kind of move doesn't really help the depth situation out much though. So...
