Except Blake is a very smart player and can pass with the best of em. Amare had the mid range jumper on lock and the ability to drive. Blake has that but can also pass and handle the ball.

I think a lot of people are not factoring in that signing Millsap or Griffin probably means we're going to have to put together a sign and trade. I sincerely hope we're not going to do something stupid like including Bender or Chriss in a trade to land one of these guys.

It doesn't matter. If we sign Blake, we will be at the cap and you can always re-sign your own free agents, even if at or over the cap. We should hang on to the players we have the rights to for awhile, especially if they produce and add value.

i suppose there is some strategy there.... but i think we package Knight, Warren, and a pick to make this all work.
btw.... brooklyn has no SFs to speak of, and of course, cap room. Chicago has no SF, and a 15 mill trade exception. You want to move Knight... you have to give up something likely more than just one future pick. TJ would be a starter for either of those team.

Great he can pass but can he pass in his suit while he is injured all the time from the bench? Too much money on a guy who no longer is that type of max player.

Villalobos wrote:I listened to the Zach Lowe/Ramona podcast and she said she thinks Blake's going back to LA. Didn't even mention PHX or anything. So yeah, I'm guessing this isn't very serious. Maybe his agent trying to get him a full max. Another thing they mentioned was the Clippers didn't want to offer CP3 the full max.

Well I think that podcast was recorded prior to the news of Blake wanting to visit with the suns. They also mentioned him not liking a big charade in free agency. They thought he would choose quickly the team he would like to play with. Therefore, to me it seems as if him wanting to meet with the suns early means he has serious interest

Never been a huge fan of Blake. Always saw him as a spoon-fed player but in many respects, he's a better passing and arguably more skilled Amare. If Amare could go to NY and average almost 24/7 next to Melo when he's healthy, I think Blake could do the same being a more focal point (passing, scoring) on a Suns team.

Besides the money, the Clippers don't have jack **** to offer Griffin. He really wants to play with Beverly, Rivers, Crawford, Wesley Johnson, Lou Williams and Jordan? Redick is likely going to find a better deal somewhere, Rivers, Crawford, and Lou are basically the same player. They sign Griffin to a max and they don't have any more cap space and are stuck with that roster!

I'm sure he can still pass in his suit yes. The Suns have the best medical/training staff in the league. I'd still be worried of his injuries, but the reward outweighs the risk IMO.

I don't doubt Blake's skill as a player. I'm just not sold on his ability to stay on the court.

I'm confused as to what the Pacers get. The Jazz have some top picks we aren't aware of? Why not just take Kyrie if I'm the Pacers? I still think Suns can make the best 3rd team in the deal if the Suns wanted Irving.

Also, why the hell does Lebron want to trade Irving? Irving has been a killer in the playoffs. I've seen some stars completely disappear, Kyrie is certainly not one of them. Though, George steps it up too. Still, nobody must want Love if they have to trade Irving.

I'm still on the fence and I can see why it's easy to see similarities between him and post-Suns Amare. But there's parts of Blake's game which never relied on athleticism unlike Amare where 95% of his game is his athletic ability to get past defenders and go for the dunk. His passing, ball handling and his basketball IQ is heads and shoulders above Amare and none of these require pre-injury level athleticism.

That said, I do see your concern about being stuck with an injured Blake. However, we do have the best medical staff in the game. Amare was pretty damn solid with us and even going as far as playing 82 games in his last season with the Suns. It was only after he left Phoenix when he started getting injured more often. Keep in mind, that all trades are also approved pending passing a physical. If our medical team sign off on Blake, then that's good enough for me.

Makes sense considering Paul George played with him. He is a perfect PG with LeBron...can just be a solid vet guy and spot up and shoot, play good D.

I just wonder what Indiana is going to get out of the deal.

Kevin love, a pick from the jazz, and a pick from the cavs is my guess. Lebron goes to PF

Never? I dont know Chambers, Manning, AC Green, and Nash. Nope we have never gotten a big free agent.

A nice dinner, hours of ego stroking.. send out a little non-verbal message.. and! Phoenix is only an hour flight away. Why not.
