Cant believe some are against this...Id understand if we were giving up assets to trade for him but Griffin as a FA singing would be amazing.

Just look at it this way guys, if the Suns don't get Blake, we still are in GREAT shape.
This isn't like when LMA chose the Spurs over us. That one hurt.

Never? I dont know Chambers, Manning, AC Green, and Nash. Nope we have never gotten a big free agent.
I'd add Ainge and the free agent the NBA gifted Phoenix long ago ...Connie Hawkins!

He's missed a full season of games the last 3 years and it wasn't just one injury. His body is eroding.

I don't think we need to give up Warren, other youngsters, and picks to make room for Blake. I'd give up a Miami 1st and Toronto 2nd to the Nets to take over Knight's contract. Keep our roster intact and add Blake.

So Suns should only go for players that are humble, generally a saint amongst men, super talented at basketball and classy as a king.
In the entire league only one player stands to meet that criteria just barely...Kawhi Leonard... And he is not available.
Give me a talented player with human emotions and imperfections over a really nice and humble one that doesnt have talent as much talent.

Re: Trade & Free Agency Ideas & Discussion 2
While I definitely want Blake back, I don’t agree with you saying his injuries have been relatively minor. He missed a full season once, missed more than half the season another time, went out early in the playoffs twice, and there are reports his toe will keep him out until December. I understand the hesitation to give him the full 5 year max and I agree we still should give it to him, but downplaying his injuries is not necessary.
I saw this posted in another forum. Can anyone confirm a Blake toe injury keeping him out until December?

I sincerely hope we're not going to do something stupid like including Bender or Chriss in a trade to land one of these guys.
BK and um DJJr or something in a sign and trade? BK and Chandler?
This is wishful thinking unfortunately, a sign and trade where we offload an unwanted contract and a very raw undrafted player? The Clippers would probably prefer to let Griffin walk for nothing instead. Most likely, I would see us sending over atleast Warren + next year's miami pick.

That might work.
Knight, Miamis future first to the Nets for Nicholson or straight nothing. Clear that 11m plus !!

According to ESPN's Michael Eaves, Blake Griffin (toe) may not be ready for the start of the season and could be out until December.
He suffered an injury to the plantar plate of his right big toe in Game 3 of the series against Utah and had surgery on May 1, but we haven't heard much about his rehab since then. ESPN's Ramona Shelburne said she has heard otherwise, as her source believes Griffin will be ready in time for the opener.

Trading Chandler should be enough cap wise.

Redick is likely going to find a better deal somewhere, Rivers, Crawford, and Lou are basically the same player. They sign Griffin to a max and they don't have any more cap space and are stuck with that roster!
They really do not have jack squat to offer to Warren and a Miami first in an S&T might spark their fancy. Granted, doubt they would take Knight - probably want Bledsoe - Sorry not happening. They did get Decker and Harrell from the Rockets
Suns are a better with Griffin on the Suns than the Clippers with Griffin
But 45m is a lot of jack

Nope. They did away with that rule a few years ago.

I don't think so: Under the old CBA, a sign-and-trade deal allowed a player to sign for the true max – in terms of total years and annual raises – even though he wasn’t remaining with his previous team. That’s no longer the case.
For Chriss paul it was different, because it was an opt in.
The reason to sign and trade this time around is more likely that capspace needs to be cleared, unless McD can manoveur his way to more space. I believe one of the issues is Len's caphold (I think 14 mil).
However, I just read on realgm that the suns could sign millsap outright - so I might be confused about our current cap situation.
