All things equal for me - would rather somehow keep Chandler and deal Knight. But you are right, the market for Chandler is probably stronger

I just don't know what team

Simple idea.

Chicago is in a **** spot right now. Maybe we can send them Knight and next years Miami 1st for Rondo?

I think he can get more years, and the amount can ramp up faster each year. Something like that. Don't remember the exact details, but it's usually better for the player financially to do a sign-and-trade.

nevermind, others were right. they changed the rules so there isn't an added benefit to doing a sign-and-trade vs just going directly to the team.

I still have no idea, if we can go over it might be <$10m so it wouldn't be over the luxury tax.

There's no way at all McD is going to give up a solid asset like that for the sole purpose of getting rid of BK.

We have zero need for the cap space at the moment.

All we need to do is get rid of Dudley that would get us down to about $60m.

we would inherit bird rights if he was still under contract, but he isn't. if the Clippers resign him, they can use the bird exception but then can't trade him for a few months or so. or they can do the sign-and-trade, but then you can't use the bird exception.

at least that's how i'm interpreting what that site says.

So we'd need to trade one of Dudley, Knight, Chandler to open up cap.

They have Dunn now, so not sure they're desperate enough to go for BK.

I think a number of teams have a need at the PG spot. Maybe we can wait it out until those teams lose out on the top PG free agents (Lowry, Teague, Hill, etc) and pitch them on BK then?

Does Griffin have any links to Phoenix, seems odd he'd visit us first out of all teams.

All I can think of is Bledsoe and Dudley, Earl Watson seems to know everyone since they were kids though.

I think Bickley and Marotta nailed it best. He must've had an incredible night in Old Town once.

Griffin would be turning down $45m from the Clippers given he's been injury prone lately.

-The Clippers approached us on a S&T for DeAndre for Chandler + #4

-Blake and DeAndre are tight

I wouldn't be surprised if we signed Blake and then tried to snag DeAndre for Chandler + a future pick. We'd also have to send out Dudley (who loves SoCal) or Knight. Perhaps we swap Knight with Chicago for Rondo who the Clippers then waive to save money (or a similar situation)

Blake joins the best medical staff in the NBA, upgrades his supporting cast, brings his buddy DeAndre with him.

We take the Clippers to the woodshed with the DeAndre trade, but they get out from under his contract, get Chandler to be their lockerroom leader, and get a draft pick or two in the process.

Our lineup:

Bledsoe/Ulis
Booker/Barbosa
TJ/Jackson
Blake/Chriss
DeAndre/Bender

We could even get really crazy and make a run at PG with whatever assets we have left over. :o

If it helps get us below the cap and net Griffin, you do it. We already have our own pick next year, how is this team going to survive adding 2-3 19 year olds every season? Think of it like a trade, Knight/Miami 1st for Griffin.

As for Chicago roster, yeah, they have Dunn....and maybe Wade, but that's about it. Dunn hasn't shown **** yet and Wade will be asking for a trade. LaVine is still in recovery. They really have nobody and nothing to play for. Year of the rebuild tank for them.

Bledsoe/Dudley connection, he parties in Scottsdale Everytime he's in town, we also drafted and held on to his brother (Who in all actuality should have went undrafted). We have a roster full of athletic youngsters. Plenty of reasons. Phoenix has pretty much the Cali lifestyle at a fraction of the cost. I had a friend from Ling Beach come visit and he was amazed at my house. 400k house that he said in California would be well over 2mill. I was shocked.
