I think both teams say no, and that's before you realize that a TJ Warren extension next summer would put us in deep luxury tax hell. Like Portland Trailblazers deep luxury tax hell.

One last trade idea before we decline Sessions option!!! Come on Cho! Make it happen!

Hornets trade- MKG, Lamb, Sessions
Hornets get- Lin, Lee

PG- Kemba/Lin
SG- Lee/Monk
SF- Batum/MLE
PF- Marvin/Frank
C- Dwight/Zeller

We can sign CJ Miles with the MLE

Wolves trade- Rubio
Wolves get- NY's '18 2nd rounder

Wolves clear the cap needed to hopefully sign Lowery

Nets trade- Lin
Nets get- MKG

With Russell as their PG, they decide to add a different young piece to the mix. They say it's all about culture. Well I think we can all agree they'd be getting one hustling, hardworking SOB

Knicks trade- Lee
Knicks get- Rubio, Lamb

With all the drama going on in NY, there's no telling how free agency will look for them. So instead of hoping to sign players, they go out and get 2 pieces for one

Why in the world the Nets would do that? They already have their own "MKG" in Rondae Hollis Jefferson.

Lamb+ Sessions + cash from Minny to Philly, Rubio to Charlotte, cap space to Minny to sign Millsap. Get it done Cho.

We must really like Graham if we didn't trade him for cash.

MIN fan just passing through, but I would mention that MIN definitely values Rubio more than cap space and a second rounder. MIN's counters to legit trades have been for better players, like Khris Middleton last year, and a piece in a Jimmy Butler deal this year and last. MIN media said knicks rumors never had any steam.

MIN has $20 mil in cap space remaining, and if Lowry takes $27 (word is, he will take even less than that to let his team sign free agents), the Wolves would probably offer cap space and Cole Aldrich. Aldrich is a "meh" contract at $7 mil expiring, but Toronto would probably take the deal because they'd rather have a $20 mil TPE and Aldrich, rather than no TPE at all.

Cheers!

We probably would have had we not hit the max amount of cash allowed for the year.

MIN "countered" and was rejected. Which doesn't indicate much other than several teams allegedly value Lavine over Rubio.

Obviously for naught now but ew...

I know we have a soft spot for Lin and Lee here due to 2 years ago, but Id have to say that MKG and Lamb are far superior overall prospects than Lin/Lee. They MAY be better this year (maybe) but over the next few...no thanks. Im up for moving them both, but not for blah. Plus I dont know if I can deal with Lin fans again...ha.

No way Minnie does this, as previously mentioned...they will be able to get SOMETHING for Rubio.

Whether they need him or not, MKG is a FAR better prospect than Lin, especially since its not like the Nets will be fighting for the playoffs any time soon.

And the Knicks get a damn STEAL. Im not convinced Lee is terribly better than Lamb, and they get Rubio too?

If we arent moving the needle anyway Id just assume stick to the devil I know thank you

Oh man ok thanks for the Wolves cap break down. For some reason, I was thinking the $20 mill was before the Deng extension kicked in...I hope for the Wolves and Hornets sake that Lowery leaves Toronto and signs with u guys!

"Doesn't indicate much?" No. It means what I said. That "MIN definitely values Rubio more than cap space and a second rounder."

Maybe other teams don't. Maybe you don't. But if MIN did value Rubio like this, they wouldn't have countered, and he'd have been traded.

Jeremy Lamb for Jameer Nelson ... possibly standalone or as part of a 3 with with the Wolves with Rubio going to Denver.

Jameer is fine as a backup PG and has a good history with Dwight & Cliff. He would bring both experience and shooting to the 2nd unit, and could play with Kemba / Dwight. I feel like Monk would do better with an experienced PG too.

Edit: and TBH the Dwight dunk videos put this in my head.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I think we all need to focus on Cho trading for Heyward. If Lavar Ball can will his son going to the Lakers into existence, imagine what we could do. :D

Any interest from the Hornets in a Patrick Beverly/Diamond Stone for Jeremy Lamb/'18 First (Top 3 Protected) deal?

The pick would probably have to be somewhere between top 10 and lottery protected if this was to happen right now, but I personally would not give up our 2018 first for Beverly without seeing what the team can do first. Maybe it's a deal that could be done near the trade deadline as an upgrade for MCW if he doesn't pan out and we'd probably have to be in a good position to win a round or two in the playoffs.

Give us Harrell or Dekker instead of Stone and I probably do that assuming our 1st can't be packaged for someone like Eric Bledsoe.

Need more pick protection. Bev isn't worth an essentially unprotected pick

Would've done top 20 protected for Beverley had MCW not been signed yesterday. At this point I think CHA considers Lamb + a 2nd for Dekker.

Denver has a metric ton of jump shooting bigs, we should get one of them.

Edit: I also feel like we should try to get in on a Carmelo trade to Cleveland if their front office is crazy enough to trade Love for him, which I think they might be.

Return to Charlotte Hornets
