My best case scenario offseason:

- Miami signs Hayward to a max deal
- Miami stretch Josh McRoberts deal so that it's spread across the next 3 years (we would have no cap across those years so it's only beneficial)
- Miami signs James Johnson to a 3-4 year deal worth 10m annually
- Dwyane Wade and Chicago reach a buyout agreement
- Miami sign Dwyane Wade for vet min
- Sign Willie Reed for the MLE

Miami Heat roster
PG - Goran Dragic (33) / Tyler Johnson (15)
SG - Dwyane Wade (24) / Josh Richardson (14) / Tyler Johnson (10)
SF - Gordon Hayward (34) / Josh Richardson (6) / Justise Winslow (8)
PF - James Johnson (30) / Justise Winslow (18) [Play the same role Johnson does, point forward] / Bam Adebayo (F)
C - Hassan Whiteside (33) / Willie Reed (15) / Bam Adebayo (F)

Tyler Johnson isn't going to actually run the point guard, when Dragic is off the floor, we have plenty of guys who can handle the ball, Winslow, Johnson, Wade, Hayward etc.

Not going to take out Golden State but definitely a contender to get to the big dance.

If Riley gives Hayward some Bustelo coffee tomorrow morning , Hayward will sign on the spot.

I would have preferred Lowry for them, but Teague is a good get, and the Wolves will be pushing top 4 in the West next season.

Conversely, I would not be opposed to a sign and trade for Serge Ibaka who would be the optimal fit next to Whiteside with 3 point shooting, athleticism and defense.

If we could get him and Hayward in the offseason, that would be a massive get, if we were to just get Ibaka there would be no point, we would not be competing for a title and he's not that young anymore.

Dragic
Wade
Hayward
Griffin or Ibaka (Through sign and trade)
Whiteside

I'm thinking championship contenders if that's the roster we roll with next year. We have 5-10m in cap space after signing Hayward, and we could manage to ship 20m in salaries to get Griffin the max (McRoberts/Winslow/T Johnson) or 10m in salaries to get Ibaka the 20m he wants (T. Johnson/McRoberts)

This seems interesting. If we sign Hayward and trade for Ibaka would we be able to retain JJ too?

I could see that for floor spacing, but I still think he's a solid contributor in this league, and for the vet min at worst if it's not working you stick him to the bench or limit his minutes. There's no loss in signing him for the vet minimum. For all he's done for us he has to retire a Heatle aswell.

I would say unlikely unfortunately. I love JJ so it would be a huge loss. We would be able to did some other trades such as Winslow + J Rich for draft picks, but when does it become overkill?

Ibakas a better option now then he was at the deadline cause I think his value has concretely dropped from a guy vouching for a 24+ year deal to somewhere around 18-20.

I wouldn't be about it cause I think he should transition to center at this point in his career and we already have a bigger, better, badder dude in the middle for a similar price.

Rather have JJ than Ibaka. Like JJ as Draymond Green-lite. Gives us a lot more positional flexibility than Ibaka.

just no, his best days are behind him, he is a diva so he coming off the bench is a fantasy,he will destroy any chemistry that that the heat has (look at chicago, jimmy and rondo are out)besides him and riley arent in the best of terms.what else?yeah did i tell told ýou that he needs the ball on his hands most of the time and cannot run and is unwilling to defend anymore?

Is there a rumor on how much they're gonna pay him? Anything above 17-18 per year would suck. He fits better than Rubio but I think they're on a similar level in general and for that id rather just pay patty mills what Rubio gets paid now and save a lil money.

No Serge, worst passer in NBA history. Awful fit next to Hassan, like Bosh but much worse. The future of the PF position is Point Forwards like JJ, Blake, and Draymond. Ibaka is a center in today's NBA.

According to Jody Genessy of the Desert News, there is "optimism within [the] Jazz that acquiring Ricky Rubio bolsters their case to keep Gordon Hayward."
We're taking this for what it's worth and nothing more, but it is worth mention given an earlier report that Hayward's decision could hinge on what direction Utah went in at point guard. Now that the Rubio trade has been consummated, it's a certainty that George HIll will be calling a new team home for 2017-18. Will Hayward follow him out the door? The action begins Saturday at midnight ET.

Take Hayward to a Cuban joint and he'll sign on the spot!
