Someone tell me how Danny Ainge just let Jimmy Butler and Paul George both get traded for nothing?

Actually makes me happy to see them squander the best trade in NBA history.

Neither Taytum or Jaylen Brown will be Superstars. Neither our pick or the Lakers pick will be top 5.

The Celtics will end this run as mediocre.

Ainge with one of the worst off seasons for a GM I can remember. Could have had a Superteam.

Other big winners of tonight:

The Washington Wizards. This probably opens up their window as #2 in the East.

and this is why the NBA is a garbage ass league.

hard cap, franchise player exception upwards to 30/40 mil per will clean this up in 5 years. teams will be tanking across the board because of the top heavy nature of the league. why should any fan of an eastern conference team spend money on this product?

Would love to watch coverage of free agency but ESPN and ESPN2 are currently airing soccer and boxing.

Well done ESPN.

They'll be #1 in 2018-19 because Lebron is going to haul ass out of Cleveland.

You're 100% right.

Wizards need to find a way to add a third piece. I guess Carmelo is the only option.

Still can't believe they squandered all of their cap space on Ian Mihinmi.

i agree they should have ended up with butler or george.... should have parted with the brooklyn and lakers picks for a premium asset like butler.

that said... they have Tatum, Brown, and maybe 2 high lotto picks next year and may still add heyward to thomas and horford.

they should be good for a really long time. i dont know about tatum but brown is going to be an allstar

I don't think they are in a good position going forward.

If they wanted to rebuild they should have kept Fultz and traded Thomas.

Now they have a bunch of rookies stuck behind a 50 win teams full of veterans.

Makes no sense to me at all.

they are a 50 win team stocked with top 3 picks... yet this is a bad thing? lol.

no one is stuck. brown and tatum will be the first guys off the bench. both will play plenty. boston is good now and will continue to be good for a long time as long as injuries dont play a role.

why would they rebuild? they are 1 lebron injury or move to LA from being in the nba finals
