Sam Presti is showing what a small market team can be with smart ownership that empowers smart executives.

It's why they're getting George for nothing and Houston got Paul for quarters.

Meanwhile we're about to give 11-13 million to a guy who had one good season.

So what should they do, trade away Westbrook & Adams and tank? This is a great trade. Westbrook will need to reel it in and play team ball which will add about 5 wins just by itself. PG is a legit superstar and I think this trade makes them a contender as long as the core stays together. I'm not picking them over the Warriors or anything but I have them at 4th in the West.

You can't say for sure that George will bolt. OKC has the advantage in resigning him now. Some suggested George wanted out of Indiana because the team wasn't a winner. If George finds himself in a favorable situation with OKC, then he may love it there and stay. People thought for sure Love would be gone from Cleveland and he's still there. You never know.

Don't forget George is motivated to not miss and All NBA team again this season due to $$$$

I think the Clippers should tear up Austin Rivers contract and re sign him to a max deal. He's had to play behind the jealous CP3 for to long.

If Middleton gets back to or even tops 2015-16 level he might seriously make the all star team.

Ainge is too cheap to ever give up anything of value so he often swings and misses on trades.

I bet he pisses off so many GMs with his lowball offers.

True and im glad he gets burned for it.

I can't see any scenario that George sticks in OKC. More likely flipped ala Serge when it becomes obvious to everyone that Westbrook doesn't work with other stars any more.

I really just think Indy didn't want Paul George in the East. I mean Kevin Love, Otto Porter,

The biggest thing for OKC is not that they get George, who is almost assuredly leaving, but that they clear Dipo's salary, because he was gonna be **** horrible in a year when Russ leaves anyways. This is the weirdest looking salary dump because George is an All-Star, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that George gets dealt at the deadline by OKC anyways.

Thats seems very sour from the Pacers. And hugely detrimental to their own franchise.

Win-win for OKC.

Worst case you scrubbed a terrible contract. Best case you have PG bird rights. Yes they're probably not winning the title next year but with Westbrook on your team you can't just say '**** it, let's wait them out', you have to try and make upgrades.

Ainge said the issue was he had too many assets and teams are demanding too much because of it.

Sounds like he was right.

Have to believe that we could have beaten some of these deals for a superstar.

That's even being kind. Some advanced stats had him in Henson's and Teletovic's class. His help d left something to be desired and offensively he was super erratic, more often than not a non-factor. He finished strong, but that's a buy-high then. He's a #2 sg/sf.
