Boston getting Hayward. lol. No Fultz, no George, no Griffin, less money than Jazz or Heat. 80-year old 4 foot PG making max money. 100-year-old Holford. We should go after him.

When you think how bad we have it, think about the Celtics.

I would love to let Snell walk, sign a competent 3/D guy for a year and use our cap space next offseason to get good quick (via trades or free agency). We can no longer count on the draft to help us. Unless the bottom totally falls out. And we all know that's at least a possibility.

Tore it apart?

Ownership refused to pay a relatively small tax bill to keep Harden and later Durant left.

People can blame Presti for not getting a better return in the Harden trade, but he wanted to resign Harden, not trade him. Had ownership in OKC not been so incredibly shortsighted and instead offered Harden a deserved max contract, that team with all three guys would have been a force in the West and odds are much higher that Durant doesn't leave.

That single decision of being unwilling to pay Harden likely ended up costing the team both Harden and Durant. So stupid.

I would hope the plan would be to right the wrongs of last off-season and prior by moving Delly, Telly, Henson for cap relief and NOT making the same mistake by re-signing Snell. Snell was great, but we need to move these overpaid role players or Giannis will be walking out that door.

I'm all for trading for players on team-friendly deals like Beverley. Fill in the gaps being frugal in free agency, find the bargain bin deals for guys like Justin Holiday or Ben McLemore.

Beverly / Payton III
Brogdon / Brown
Middleton / Holiday / Parker
Giannis / Wilson
Maker / Monroe

I know that's asking for a heck of a lot, so we might as well pay Snell and hope Giannis can overcome our overpaid, deficient roster?

I know you all hate Delly but Hawes, Henson, Mirza, and Monroe is plenty to make room. He's only 9.6 a year for a backup point you use every game. But I follow him everywhere so maybe trade him to OKC, Rockets, Wolves, Cavs, or Warriors please.

When Giannis leaves?

There's nothing they can do until they get these bad contracts off the books. Doubling down on a failed strategy because you're scared if you don't make win now moves he'll leave is a good way to make sure he leaves.

I have the exact same thoughts. Think the people who have advocated trading for DeAndre Jordan, Kevin Love, Paul George etc are crazy & short-sighted.

If we're signing any vet rotation players these past two years they should be on 1-2 year deals instead of the Delly/Telly contracts and now on top of that whatever Snell gets. I'd be more open to the Snell signing if those other guys weren't here on those contracts..

But yeah ideally we would get rid of them and find these cheap guys.

Boston added the third pick in Tatum to their team and very well could have two top five picks next year. They also have cap room unlike us. People can bash Ainge for not cashing in assets to land George, but it's not as if he has no means to build Boston into a really good team if Tatum becomes really good and Ainge hits on those high picks next year.

Granted we have Giannis, but Ainge is a far smarter GM than we have in place and they have a better head coach.

Only 15 minutes to go now. Excited to see what Big Horst can do to get out of this mess that Larry Harris made.

1. Why would the Clippers trade us Beverly? They just traded for him and resigned Griffin, so clearly they aren't rebuilding.

2. Who is going to trade for guys like Henson and/or Teletovic to give us cap relief by taking on their crappy contracts? Other teams scout the Bucks and could see that those two suck and aren't worth their contracts.

Looking forward to seeing what kind of contract Tony Snell gets from cap guru Jon Horst.

Ingles commands that sort of money, from Hammond and Weltmann. Their roster is a mess and they want to shell out that type of cash for him? Oh man. "It's only the first domino!"

and you take Dipo and Sabnois? Ok I guess.

I can't see how Indiana took the OKC deal if the Boston offer of two starters and three 1sts was on the table. Why would a rebuilding team not want George in the East?

Too much for Ingles, IMO.

This would have been the Bucks. Trust me.

In which case I'd be saying "well he's better than Snell and it'll be like having Dudley back but that's too much"

Like Dudley (and Delly) every time he gets an injury that slows him down at all his play will fall off a cliff. Dat borderline NBA athleticism.

Yeah, that seems like a lot but Ingles really impressed me in the playoffs.
