If Porter wasn't going to sign on to a move to Indy, I'm not sure we could've beaten that offer, as meager as it was. Our only other young attractive trade asset is Oubre; we'd have to make up the salary difference by including a center Indy doesn't need.
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.

Gee I wish we'd given up a huge amount for him, so that we could have him for a year. Wouldn't that have been great?

No, I think there will be some friction between Porter and Wall after Wall low key tried to ship him off to Indy.

Hope there is as much friction between him and Beal, when both supposedly didn't like each other. Porter will be making some pretty good coin, so I think he'll be ok with John. Plus JW is the quarterback and you want to get on his good side so he'll pass you the ball more. :D

Agreed.

Of course the issue was getting him to actually play..... :)

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Sure but if he had stayed in shape in Washington, maybe he'd still be here and we wouldn't have overspent on Mahinmi.

Get Melo for any package that doesn't include Oubre. The East is weaker than ever. And the West as stacked as ever....

Mahinmi
Melo
Porter
Beal
Wall

+ Oubre off the bench, you always have a 20ppg scorer on the floor.

With the East being THIS weak, if they stand pat (I would even settle for a coaching upgrade) then they can't be taken seriously.

The current group couldn't get past the midget in Boston ffs, it didn't qualify as a true contender, they have to make something happen.

Even if Melo is done and is Bogie 2.0 at least they tried something.

No Melo trades and no giving up the future with first-rounders. Try and upgrade the bench maybe with some of the (better) players that were just recently dumped.

Without doing research on their numbers, Gerald Henderson always intrigued me. Maybe he's over the hill. McLemore isn't very good but he's just 24 and shot 38% from 3pt last season. Festus Ezeli could be worth a cheap flier if he's healthy. There are many more bench guys getting dumped and while we can dissect every guy and say they all stink, so did our bench last season. And I don't want to hear that we go t better when we got right of Thornton, Jennings and Burke. That wasn't the sole reason we scored 5 pts in Game 7 and were consistently outproduced off the bench in the playoffs.

Remember that he lacks the lateral movement needed to play PF. If though, he is willing to transition to playing C and coming off the bench, then thats a very good deal...provided he shows up to play also.

Our local beat writers are HORRIFIC. Start of FA, and nothing. No reporting or anything.

They are absolutely horrible, BUT Ernie is always quiet about his moves, and he probably literally is doing nothing actually
