I think he'll get more than that... If we are trying to get him on a 2 year deal, we'll probably need to go over 20+ at least.
heard a report of Philly offering 2/50

I think the two ex-Lakers are gonna work together well.

Sixers can reach the playoffs should they get Redick. The East is so weak...

Milwaukee & OKC are at or approaching the tax threshold. It'll be interesting to see if they try to shed some salary.

Washington vowed to match any Otto offer. I don't think it's a bluff
Should we even bother? What if they wait until the last possible minute like Riley did. Could limit us in other areas

If they sign Reddick to a two year deal, and he is coming off the bench... then that would be amazing. I don't think it can be done, but Sean Marks did steal Russell away for nothing so maybe he can do it again.

All the stars went out west, I think Nets have a chance at top 5 seed in the East next year.

Re: 2017 Nets Offseason Thread II
At this point, I'd say there's a decent chance Redick ends up here if the various rumors are true.
I mean, apparently it's the Wolves vs 76ers vs Nets right now?
Well, if he goes to the Wolves, he's a 6th man behind Butler/Wiggins. Thibs plays his main guys to the ground, so Redick probably plays the least amount of minutes in this scenario. Probably gets paid less per year as well, as the Wolves have the least cap now compared to the Sixers & Nets. Those are all the potential downsides. Seems like quite a lot of cons... The pros are that he'd get the longest years on his contract in Minny, and that Minny will probably be far and away the best team out of Philly and Nets. No rebuilding for him.
If he goes to the Sixers, he gets to start and gets paid 20m for one year. Pretty sweet. The most obvious con is that he's getting older and if he has a down season, or has an injury, there goes his future $$$. Pretty dangerous. Another con is that he'll have to be part of the rebuilding in Philly (though that might go very well, very quickly if their young talent blooms). Also of note, is that the Sixers' reputation of good culture is a bit up in the air after Hinkie was basically kicked out.
And now, if he comes to the Nets, he probably gets 2yrs @ 30 mil? He gets more security than just a one year deal, but has to come off the bench. Also has to be part of rebuilding just like under the Sixers scenario, but unlike Philly, he knows the culture here is 100% good.
Considering these things, I think there's almost no way he goes to Minnesota. Too many negatives there that would outweigh a longer contract (especially regarding playing-time).
It's either the Sixers or Nets. TBH, I don't actually want JJ on this team since I think the Nets roster would become way too guard heavy if he joins, but if I had to bet, I'd bet on him becoming a Net. The extra year is enough to entice him for security purposes, and the more concrete culture in Brooklyn sways him to join, especially after coming off a fresh season of some Clippers dysfunction. In a vacuum, 2yrs/30mil would be a fairly good contract too. Not obscene $$$ yearly, and short enough for a 32 year old.

On October 31, 2009, against the Kings, a bat descended onto the court causing a stoppage of play. As the bat flew past, Ginóbili swatted the bat to the ground with his hand. He then carried the creature off the court, earning the applause of the crowd.

Are you expecting us to sign hordon heyward or something?
30-35 wins doesnt get a 5 seed no matter how bad the east is

Re: 2017 Nets Offseason Thread II
reddick at 2/30 would be a huge steal for marks and a great way to open free agency.... it would also prevent him from making a mistake like maxing kcp.
with reddick here we dont have to worry about spacing for 2 years. he is a great vet presensce, he would really help evolve the offense and allow the young guys to work in the motion the way it needs to be spaced.
if we got reddick and either olynk or patrick patterson that would be an outstanding FA period for marks

Hell, I would even support paying Reddick 40-45 over 2 years, as long as he doesn't hurt our long-term flexibility. Reddick needs to be gone when the Nets are ready to compete for star free agents. These two years wouldn't hurt the Nets cap situation at all.

Re: 2017 Nets Offseason Thread II
I'm thinking a better route would be take on some bad contracts to add desperately needed draft pics. Teams were looking for 2 1st-rounders for Ryan Anderson but the Rockets didn't bite, I'd settle with Anderson plus a 1st and 2nd.
Anderson stretches the floor at the 4, I know his defense sucks but we're not in it to win it now the big takeaway from this deal would be the future picks.

yup... Dlo/RHJ are going to get paid soon. so any big money we give out this offseason either needs to be short money 2-3 years or to a legit all-star calibur player

yeah im not taking on anderson, killing any cap room we would have to get a pick in the mid 20's.
the rockets have chris paul and harden. they are going to be really good
i love anderson, one of my favorite nets, but he is a bad fit
i do like your plan though.... to add talent by taking on salary. id love another deal like the dlo one,

Re: 2017 Nets Offseason Thread II
Hello folks, long time lurker that decided to join. I don't believe Nets are actually in talks for JJ Reddick but rather he is using the Nets for leverage. I think instead Sean is looking at the Raptors to dump Carol and assets right now to us since the east is historically weak right now. If not I think he going for JaMychal Green or Muscula, both relatively young PFs if the Nets not totally sold on RHJ.
