The 27-year-old point guard has been a Summer League mainstay over the course of the past five years but hasn’t seen any action with a big league club during the regular season.

Magette was an All-Star in the NBA D-League in 2016/17 and was named to the All-NBA D-League Second Team for his efforts with the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
Hoops Rumors

He led the G League in assists (9.3 per game) during the 2016-2017 season and he also averaged nearly 16 points per game. Prior to the 2016-2017 NBA season, Magette was the final player cut before the Hawks committed to a 15-man roster and all reports were positive in terms of the way Mike Budenholzer viewed his game. The Hawks, as of this moment, also have only two point guards (Dennis Schröder, Malcolm Delaney) on the roster, shedding light on potential interest.

I would be imterested in a sign and trade involving Alex Len:

the signing of Len could become an extremely savvy move.

According to the contract value estimation tool from Sports Illustrated, Len is in line for a three-year deal valued at $20 million, potentially providing the Hawks a starting-caliber center at a fraction of the price.

Landing a promising center that just turned 24 for less than $7 million a year could prove to be a wise move for Atlanta.

Using the Dwight trade as a precedent, it'll likely be bad contract for bad contract.

It won't be pretty. (Think Chandler Parsons, Evan Turner)

i would be fine with Chandler Parsons honestly.

There is taking on bad salary (Plumlee at $12.5 mil for 3 years) then there is taking on an absolute ALBATROSS in Parson's ($23, $24 and $25 million). I would definitely not be OK with that. Might as well keep Bazemore's contract - at leaset he'll be availabel to play minutes unlike Parson's who's always injured.

+1

I'd rather have Bazemore, at least he's a positive on the defensive end

Although Parsons has injury issues, it's not like he has missed full seasons every year. With that said, the knee injury seems more like an issue of trying to rush him back for the Mavs in the playoffs last year, but he wasn't quite ready yet, so he ended up having set backs that kept him pretty much out for the Grizzlies this year. When healthy, Parsons is a much better and useful player than Bazemore, and if we're going to overpay someone, might as well take the gamble on someone that can do more than just hustle.

Ok I understand the "wait and see" approach Schlenk is going but I hope he's putting things in place because things are already moving fast and I don't want to end up scraping the bottom of the barrel for roster additions.

Ahhhh....

The old "wait and see" approach.

Schlenk sounds just like all the other GM's the Hawks have had. Another one of these thrifty poker-faced GM's.

We were never in play for the big names flying around the league right now. Our tier of players will be coming in the next few days after the initial wave of big signings, plus what happens with Millsap.

Schlenk seems more proactive than what we have had in previous years outside of Danny Ferry. Given the situation, we can't snap our fingers and have magic happen.

So we haven't even set up a meeting with Paul Millsap?

I'm not sure what we can get from the Wolves but I'd be willing to do a

Hawks get : Dieng+Aldrich+Patton

Wolves get: Millsap+Delaney

It depends on the pieces we get in a Millsap trade for me.

I'd also want to use some of our cap space before trading for him unless we can pawn Bazemore off on them.

Gentleman, what are your thoughts on Bojan Bogdanovic?

David Aldridge says the Hawks are the "most ardent suitors" for his services.

^ Bojan Bogdanovic is on my wish list. I hope the price is right. On paper, Bogdanovic's game seems to fit Budz' system.

Great addition off the bench. Weakens a division rival.

Provides spacing for Dennis to operate. Would be a perfect fit in our system where he doesn't have to create his own offense.

I love this move.

So suddenly we have $30 mil in cap space while maintaining Muscala and THJ's cap holds. I'm eager to see us hit the RFA market with that money.

Trading a minimal asset for Jahlil Okafor is also something I'd like to see if we strike out on free agency bigs. As of now, our big man rotation for next year sits at: Collins, Muscala (if re-signed), Plumlee (Shudders).
