Doesn't LMA have a heart condition as well? And if you can't put yuor ego aside and do what Pop with all his rings and coaching hall of famers wants than I don't think you're going to be coachable with Stan Van.

I like how you said dick-squared. Got a good chuckle out of it. And 1'd it for that reason

I don't know if anyone watched the Western playoffs but the dude really let himself go. The guy barely jogs back on defense anymore.

And his midrange game has been basically "chucker" territory for some years now. We give so much crap to Dre (mostly well deserved), LMA would be incredible for the angry tweets/comments for that alone.

LMA is in no-man's land in the era of "positionless basketball". He lives in the mid-range, can't protect the rim, play physical, or rebound very well, and he doesn't really move very well defensively either.

5 years ago, this guy was an up-and-coming stud. Today, I'm not sure you can win with him as your starting 4.

Man, if we could somehow get LMA without giving up Drummond, we'd have the mopiest team in the world. Ish would definitely have to go, though.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

Seriously, though. Let's get LMA and Demarcus Cousins without giving up Dre. Rename the team the Detroit Personality Disorders, and then turn the season into a reality TV show.

Cousins gets to be the pouty wild one that wants to win but can't control his emotions.
Drummond gets to be the pouty baby that only wants to make friends and get into acting.
Aldridge gets to be the passive-aggressive one that complains about touches but doesn't actually care about anyone but himself.

The occasional scene in which Ish Smith comes in, says something cheery and team-oriented, and then gets the everloving crap beata out of him, would be comedy gold.

Tobias wouldn't sign the contract to be on TV. Marcus Morris would try to control everyone but quickly give it up as a lost cause. KCP would sign the contract but never actually say anything on camera. Stanley would make cameos dominating the Drew League. Boban would just shake his head and we'd laugh as his big 'ol ears flopped around.

This is a goldmine idea. Sign me up.

Sounds like Greg Monroe with attitude issues. Didn't work before, won't work now.

Pistons have only a few decent options IMO.

1. Trade one of Jackson or Drummond, or both to gain cap room, resign Pope. Best option.

2. Sign and trade Pope. Keeps Pistons out of luxury tax, and gets value for a guy instead of losing him, or drastically overpaying him. Good option.

3. Match max offer for Pope and hope all three guys have career years. Alarm clock starts ringing, damn it!

if the spurs really wanna get rid of aldridge i'd do leuer/boban/morris protected 18 for aldridge/d.bertans. sign festus ezeli and raymond felton as the vets and resign kcp.

we become
reggie/ish/felton
kcp/kennard/gbinije
harris/stanley/bertans
lamarcus/ellenson/harris
drummond/lamarcus/ezeli

and sign good players from our orlando team to fill out the roster.

I think the Spurs would do this. That would make for a sick team here in Detroit.

Spurs will only really want to get rid of Alderidge if they have a FA that they think helps them more willing to come in, and they can move Alderidge and maybe even Danny Green for cap space and a solid player or on reasonable contracts.
