Hmm...

I'd prefer a defensive minded big man for Afro's development but Monroe is a good stop gap as well.

And he only has 1 year left on contract so the team would maintain cap flexibility

I think this would only work though if we get rid of Mosgov... wonder if the Knicks would take him

We could send Hamilton/Nicholson to Milwaukee.

Still, I don't think he fits our team. Only way I do this is if it supplants our cap room the way Mosgov does.

He's done well in Milwaukee when surrounded by lengthy defenders and he's a better rebounder than Brook. I'm sure the Nets don't expect every big man they acquire to be a shooter or have shooting potential since the brunt of our scoring will be via the backcourt.

I bet it's just part of the recruitment, let him see himself in the unit heading up to the stadium

I wonder if the Nets thought Snell was going to be that cheap. Snell is only 25 and now the Bucks have him on a great contract through part of his prime. IMO, he can become an even better defender and he's already a 40% 3pt shooter.

And I agree with you MDB. I don't think Porter is that much better than Snell; in fact, I can see Snell having a greater impact in the future due to his defensive potential. Porter certainly isn't worth 3x what Snell is getting paid.

I believe Snell was never available. The framework was already on the table prior to midnight from how quickly it was announced.

Oh I'm sure it was basically done before the deadline but players who signed with other teams also had deals done just after the deadline.

The tampering rules aren't really held unless a front office directly and/or blatantly contacts a player. The Nets could've spoken to his agent and offered a contract.

But maybe he really, really likes it in Milwaukee.

I can't believe Iggy wants to leave the Warriors.

Either they're low balling him or hes just being greedy.

Seems like the latter.

My guess is he's gathering offers, giving GSW a gauge of how much they need to pay him

Why do you guys think Indiana made such a bad trade?

Seems like he went out of of his way to not help the Cavs or Celtics.

Still I'm sure Ainge made a crucial mistake by not including the Lakers pick. Theres no way the Pacers turn that down.
