Trade Knight back to Milwaukee for Monroe. Bad contract for bad contract, but both players at a usable position for a team need.

Knight had his best year(s) as a Buck, and even though Monroe makes close to $18M, he is also an expiring.

Unless the Suns include a lot of assets - like multiple first round picks - this is what it will take - trading a bad contract for bad contract but hopefully the player coming is a position of usable need

I mean currently Dellavedova is their starting PG for christs sake. Knight is 2 years younger and better than him, and its not even close!

PER36:
Knight- 19/4/4
Delly- 10/6.5/3

All the rest of the numbers are pretty even.

And thats with Knight having a very down year. If we were to use Knights stats from just a year ago, he would blow Delly out of the water.

Dellavedova understands his role, he just defends hard and pass the ball.

Knightmare wants to be the hero. I would prefer Dellavedova always on my team.

The bucks will actually get a small asset for monroe. He was decent last year and is on an expiring.

Any trade of Knight to the Bucks would probably require us taking back Delly. They already have Brogdon so they don't need a 3rd PG, and Delly's minutes fell throughout the year. I would do that trade (straight up) in a heartbeat.

What if you include the Miami number 1 pick - as that is what its going to take to move Knight I feel

Maybe if the Sixers or Nets strike out on Reddick - and they are looking for a guard Knight becomes an option

Its been mentioned before, but Knight for Okafor??

ESPN's Ian Begley is reporting that the Bucks are attempting to trade Greg Monroe.
Monroe recently exercised his $17.8 million player option for 2017-18. He came off the bench last season for Milwaukee and saw his playing time reduced as a result. However, his per-possession production was still in line with his career numbers. The Bucks have some depth at center, with starter Thon Maker still on his rookie deal and John Henson and Spencer Hawes under contract. It is unknown what the Bucks are seeking in exchange for Monroe.

Another interesting Knight trade idea made by Mod/Mavs fan Texas Chuck:

Texas Chuck wrote:inspired by Heezzi on the Mavs board:

Heezzi wrote:Can we trade Wes to the Thunder? They need a SG now.

Kanter to Suns
Matthews/Mejri to OKC
Knight to Dallas

Suns get out of the last year of Knight, avoid paying Len and get a guy who can share the center minutes with Chandler and provide a lot of production for the bench. And if he opts out next summer its a huge win for them.

Thunder get a 3&D wing between the 2 stars and Salah is a cheap backup big to ease the loss of Kanter

Dallas saves some money the next 2 years in exchange for taking on that 3rd year. Yeah there really isn't a role for Knight expect that he's more talented than the Mavs pile of backup guards if Rick can pull it out of him. Also does right by Wes by getting him to a team with a lot more to play with.

I'd do it!

Yeah I think attaching the Miami pick probably gets it done with some team. Im kind of torn on that because as much as i want knight gone i hate to burn an asset that could end up a late lotto pick just to do it before you have to.

My favorite somewhat realistic deal is knight for asik straight up.

Me too. No fan of Kanter's, but I wonder if he and Bender might work pretty well together with Dragan's passing. Need to move Tyson. Tyson for Dieng might help Minny a bit financially. Don't know where yo go from there, though.

that would be incredible

doubt it happens though since MIL seemed eager to let Knight go

What about Delly and Monroe for Knight and Tyson?

Honestly, I don't think Kidd's interested in having BK around. I think the impression people have is that he's a player who needs to be catered to in order to flourish. Perhaps a little like Lance Stephenson.

As i was researching some info for a post of mine on a different thread, i came across this Fun Fact:

In the past 5 years, the Celtics have had 22 players drafted!

Can you name 10 of them (without cheating?)

Saberestar wrote:We probably are working something around Millsap for Knight and Chandler. That would be a OK trade.

It would be an upgrade, and we need to spend money this season. We can always trade him after the first season with us.

Bledsoe/Ulis
Booker/Jackson
Warren/Jackson
Millsap/Bender
Chriss/Bender

Those 8 players can be our core for the next few years, with some minutes from Reed, Dudley and Len or Williams.
I like it, looks solid.

I think Knight for Millsap is either a joke or a wild fantasy. The Hawks would rather let him walk than take on a terrible contract. Not sure why they'd want Chandler either since they would likely be rebuilding.

My main rebuilding goal is to grab a dominant big man to pair with Booker.

The main targets should be Gobert, Davis, Porzingis, and maybe Myles Turner. If any of these become available in trade, the Suns need to be in a position to go after them.

This is exactly what I was thinking. None of those particular names would be available, but for me, if our team was going to make a splash in FA, or some sort of trade, it would be for a quick, rim protecting, rebounding big. Like a Whiteside type.

A lot of names of wings and 4s pop up but I think we are pretty well stocked for the future there. If Chandler was only 10 years younger. But, that's one reason if we can keep Len for cheap, I'm not opposed, since he protects rim and is a solid rebounder. I like Sauce too but most things I read expect he will cost more on open market.

I wouldn't be surprised if neither get an offer or if Sauce gets an offer somewhere and turns it down and would even take less to stay with the Suns.
