After one year, how happy or dissatisfied are you with Taurean Prince?
Lets say the Hawks were able to make a trade with the Kings or Nuggets, because they were in the market for a PG in last year's draft, and trade Teague for the 7th or 8th pick...
Would you have drafted somebody else, or would you have still drafted Taurean Prince at 7th or 8th?

Great question!
1. We are pretty pleased with Taurean. He's a low ceiling player, but a perfect fit for what we want out of a SF.
2. Taurean was considered a serious reach at #12. I suspect that if we were set on selecting him while sitting @ 7 or 8, we would have traded back to do so while collecting future assets--as we did in the 2016 draft.
3. There were rumors we had varying degrees of interest in Sabonis and Buddy Hield. A higher draft pick could have seen us pursue one of those options while hoping to select Taurean with our pick at #21.
4. Another factor to consider: what could we have gotten in a more talented 2015 draft had we traded Teague and the #15 pick that year? Names like Justise Winslow, Devin Booker, Myles Turner were available and could have altered the makeup of this team had we traded with perennial lottery teams like ORL or SAC that summer. Or even swapped PGs and draft picks with Indy that summer.
Overall, Dennis Schroder's solid (if erratic) play combined with steady improvement from Taurean Prince has made the trade slight win for us. As an expiring vet, there was no way we could have afforded to bring Teague back on a bigger salary. Losing JT for nothing in Free agency would have been...painful.

Re: Grading the Jeff Teague Trade
I have to give that move an A, plain and simple.
We got a first round pick and a player who is under team control on a rookie scale contract for the next 4 years for an expiring PG, and then Prince completely exceeded my expectations in his first year.
Then you give Dennis Schroder the starting job and a new long term team, and he proves to be the right investment.
The only thing Bud/Wilcox did wrong in this scenario is not getting even a decent enough backup PG to replace Schroder's bench production, that's what hurt us.

Re: Grading the Jeff Teague Trade
It looks like the Hawks won on the trade. Budz also got lucky that they didn't get a pick higher than 12 and wasn't able to get into a position to get Sabonis. Prince has turned out to be a better player than Sabonis.
I think that Budz can easily coach up Prince to be a prime DeMarre Carroll or prime Batum. And there is a small chance that Prince could turn into Deng if he puts a lot of hard work and thing go just right.
Getting a young defensive SF/SG that fits into Budz system is a really good trade for Teague

Hawks come out smelling like roses in this trade:
Teague is gone from Indy, Hill most likely gone from the Jazz, Hawks have Prince - Hawks win.

Could have got Prince without picking him at 12, but yeah, I guess we did win.

There is no guarantee of that.

I liked the trade for us.
We attempted to move Jeff Teague multiple times and never received the value we desired. When we did trade him we gained value and I like what Taurean has/will provide.

This.
Letting Teague, or any top player, walk away for nothing would have been foolish.
We reached a bit for TP. But he fits the team and system well.
We likely would've gotten more in return for JT0 had we moved him earlier -- with multiple years under contract -- coming off an All Star season.
But we received solid value.
B+
