Booker/Jackson
Warren/Jackson
Millsap/Bender
Chriss/Bender

Those 8 players can be our core for the next few years, with some minutes from Reed, Dudley and Len or Williams.
I like it, looks solid.

I think Knight for Millsap is either a joke or a wild fantasy. The Hawks would rather let him walk than take on a terrible contract. Not sure why they'd want Chandler either since they would likely be rebuilding.

Plus they drafted Tyler Dorsey who is Brandon Knight 2.0. The Suns would have to go overboard including a pick and young player.

Didn't seem people minded as much with Blake, at 7-8 years older with massive injury issues the last couple years. But yeah, I agree, in both cases.

Since Boston signed their draft picks today, now they have to dump someone on a Smart sized contract in order to free up the cash to offer Hayward the max contract he will be getting.

Well, we need to match salaries and Millsap is gonna get around $30M per year.

Gambo said that without Howard on the Hawks Chandler has been named as part of a sign and trade with them...but he earns "just" $13M.

We need to add Knight or Dudley for sure for salary purposes. And probably a future first round pick if needed, to make the trade more fair...Miami 2018 pick.

Knight
Chandler

What if you include the Miami number 1 pick - as that is what its going to take to move Knight I feel

Maybe if the Sixers or Nets strike out on Reddick - and they are looking for a guard Knight becomes an option

Its been mentioned before, but Knight for Okafor??

Yeah I think attaching the Miami pick probably gets it done with some team. Im kind of torn on that because as much as i want knight gone i hate to burn an asset that could end up a late lotto pick just to do it before you have to.

My favorite somewhat realistic deal is knight for asik straight up.

This is probably the most realistic option and we basically get out of the contract a year earlier I think (last year not guaranteed for Asik) and if Knight could excel anywhere, it might be there, with so much attention the bigs get. They might actually even throw in a pick coming our way....2nd rounder or something.

Because the suns have some cap room the sign and trade wouldn't need to be equal money. The space can be combined with a player so just chandler going out could work. But since I don't see why atl would just want chandler i assume another asset like a pick would be included. And if youre doing that then knight better be going out. Now if atl would take both knight and chandler and say the heat pick then i guess i could live with a 3 yr milsap deal.

I either want him on the Spurs or to force GS to sign him to some huge deal for far too long so they are screwed later

We don't need to match salaries unless we were both at or over the cap. As long as we have the space to absorb him, we would be ok. The only incentive the Hawks would have in just not letting him walk is to get something out of it.

If he really wants Minnesota, than that makes sense because they might give up someone useful like Dieng or something...not sure how much cap space they need to clear.

Yup and if you're NO after the holiday signing you have so few options to try and improve its a gamble you might take especially since asik is beyond useless with their roster construction.

Unless we hear something from Millsap today I think July 4th is the day we make a move. We always do something on July 4th.

My main rebuilding goal is to grab a dominant big man to pair with Booker.

The main targets should be Gobert, Davis, Porzingis, and maybe Myles Turner. If any of these become available in trade, the Suns need to be in a position to go after them.

Knicks fan comming in piece :) I do believe you have the assets to go for anyone but Davis outside of that group. I do have a feeling that Turner would be much more expensive than his actual value though. As for Porzingis, i think this is the time, if you want to make a move for him. Price would likely be Josh Jackson, Bender, Chriss and a first rounder though. Not sure you guys would be willing to pay that.

Anyways. I wanted to ask you about Alan Williams. Don't know much about him, but his numbers seem to be very promising. The rebounding numbers per 36 is off the charts, but numbers only say so much. Especially in limited playing time. Can he defend? Pass? score (obviously not from 3, but does he have a post game)? At what price should the Suns definetly retain him?
