SUPERSTAR SG's? Dwyane Wade, Brandon Roy, Eric Gordon (Clippers version), James Harden, Klay Thompson, Jimmy Butler, Andrew Wiggins and Book. I don't think that's "growing on trees" level.

So you honestly think it's easier to get a player like Porzingis than a player like Booker? Seriously?

It's the old adage, you never trade big for small. This is the same thing. Star bigs are much harder to come by than star guards. If you want to talk semantics, go right ahead, but a rational thinker would know what I mean.

Jokic
Porzingis
Booker
Wiggins
CJ (he's at least 3 years older than the other guys so not sure why he's here)

When it comes to discussions, semantics matter. Words matter.

I think it depends on how good Booker can be. I hope and am willing to believe that there is no limit. As for Porzingis, I'm not entirely sure he gets better from this point on. He's a stud and he's an interesting player, but I'm not sure he's the next Dirk. Maybe, but I'm not sure.

The rarity of each depends on their potential. The only player I'd say that your adage applies to would be someone like Shaquille O'Neal. Those don't grow on trees. KP could be no more effective for his career than Ryan Anderson. We just don't know.

Star SG don't grow on trees. It's the weakest position in the NBA right now.

Yeah, thus the reason he is called the unicorn.

So at least 2 people think it's harder to get a star SG than it is to get a star big man. Gotcha.

He is a super rare star too...7'3, hits the 3, blocks shots. I mean he dominates. I imagine he will even be much better without Jackson around giving him a hard time and trying to get them to run the triangle.

We all love ourselves some Booker but objectively, KP is a unicorn who has produced on both sides of the court. It's hard to put Booker over KP.

I'm looking at this year's playoffs, and almost all of the teams have guards/wings as their best players. Small minority of teams that don't completely fit that mold, like maybe Grizzlies and Hawks, couldn't even get through the 1st round. It seems that stacking positions 1-3 while filling the front court with role players that play defense and/or stretch the floor, gets far better results than doing the opposite (Pelicans).

With this in mind, i feel that teams that have front court that is "too good" are actually suffering because of it. They'll have to tie a huge chunk of cap space to those guys, while not using them to their full potential. And if they do try to play them as 1st/2nd options (as their salary demands), they suffer as those "1-3 heavy" teams seem to easily outplay them.

So until i see Davis, Cousins, Love, Towns, Embiid, Porzingis and other premier big men lead their teams to continued success, i'll stick with the guards. Therefore, my pick here is Booker.

Here's your question, if a new empty team is getting ready to do an expansion draft and the two best players on the board are KP and Booker, who do they pick. IMO it's a no-brainer.

Yep, no brainer all the way, Booker in a heartbeat. Devin is almost 2 years younger, shows leadership skills not possessed by Porzingis, goes to his exit interviews and communicates with the organization when asked and he hasn't missed at least 10 games in each of his NBA seasons. KP has had multiple minor injuries that have kept him out but the sore back is probably the most worrisome, plus the fact that 7'3 athletes tend to have more early career-ending injuries (I think?).

Star big men:
Davis, Cousins, Gobert, Green, MGasol, Whiteside, Towns, Griffin, Jokic, Jordan?
Star SG:
Harden, Klay?

Not so crazy imo.

DEVIN BOOKER
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I like Booker's mentality more than Wiggins.

It's amazing how close they are in everything http://bkref.com/tiny/7FlPA

I would go Booker on this one because he is younger.

How Wiggins can have so low rebounding, steals and block with his athleticism?
