If the mods had some guts they would just ban him and move on. There are plenty of good posters on this board, and I think the threshold for banishment is way too high.

Feel free to pm one of us if you think we are giving too much rope. Thats certainly preferred than comments like this. Fortunately, we are the type that generally give a lot of rope.

Yes iggy would've been ideal here as that vet to guide young guys through playoffs but perhaps you can get him when his new contract expires whenever that is.

Not a bad signing. $23 million is a little much but for only one year, I'll take it.

Very SOLID!!
Would really like it if JJ sticks around after this year aswell (to replace Stauskas) at a lower salary though.

I wouldnt count out the Heat just yet so 7th seed worst case scenario.

Just saw that we signed A.Johnson at 11 for a year. Nice. Roster complete, me thinks.

yeah I do hope sixers meet celtics in the first round. Celtics have had trouble with bigger taller teams who out rebound them like raptors and cavs. IT won't stop fultz and vice versa. I'd love to see Ainge eat crow for passing on Fultz.

Fultz drives, defense collapses....kicks out to JJ for the open 3-splash.

Simmons drives with a head of steam, no look pass to the corner-JJ splashes the open 3.

Embiid gets doubled in the post, kicks it out to JJ, open 3-splash.

Yup. And he's betting on himself. 3 point shooters are a hot commodity and this year's NBA finals proved it. Next year's playoffs will prove the same point and JJ will get himself a decent contract again. He must be confident his body will hold up like VC, and it is possible these days. This fills a huge need for Sixers. For 1 year.

Some of my favorite quotes from the Bible of Hinkie:

"We will not bat a thousand on every single draft pick. We also have them by the bushelful, in part, because of that. We don't have any hubris that we will get them all right. We're not certain that we have an enormous edge over anybody else. In some cases, we might not have an edge at all."

So maybe Hinkie missed on Okafor and Noel. He was right on Embiid and hopefully BC is right on Simmons and Fultz.

"What we look at is, how do we add to what we're doing in a way that gets us closer to our goal? We don't think that it will necessarily be linear — that every year you will add five wins and after 10 years you will get to 50. That's not the way we think about the world. We think that it comes at fits and starts, and you have to be prepared to put yourself in a position that you might be able to make big leaps."

Love it! Growth may not be linear. Hell we are on an exponential curve now.

When asked when he'll know when the rebuilding process is complete and he has the right players in place, Hinkie responded ominously, "We'll all know. We'll all know."

Possibly my favorite. I think we all know. The rebuilding may not be totally complete but we are close.

Great signing, hopefully we send Korkmaz back to Europe. Reddick can teach Stauskas a thing or two

I'm one who may have hung myself a few times with that rope, and I'm thankful for its length.

You blue font dudes are ok in my book.

To be clear, I think there is a legitimate argument that guys with agenda's to the point of trolling have been given too much leeway at points. So, please, use the report function. Pm a mod. Tell us (privately) if you are fed up and with what exactly, and we will make sure to crack down more. Thanks all. We're trying to make it the best place for everyone we can, so help us out that way. :)

David Aldridge on NBA TV said that players are taking notice of the Sixers and it has become a very attractive destination for players and will be even more so down the road. Players really admire the young talent and direction the Sixers are taking.

Redick can teach all the wings a few things about getting open and shooting.

Read on Twitter

How the hell could you like the Amir Johnson signing but not get the Redick signing for the Sixers? Jordan Schultz is so clearly in over his head every time he tries to give his own take.

The goal of next year is to make the playoffs. Maybe even win a round if things go right. Not too complicated.

I tried to tell people that guy was a fraud back before we traded for the #1 pick when he was saying the Lakers won't take Ball unless he wows them in a workout and are leaning toward Jackson.

That guy claims to have sources for all 4 major sports, yet has never broken a story in his life.

Yeah, no kidding. As dumb as Lou Will's comment was the other day, when I see tweets like the one I linked I kind of get it. That's an embarrasingly clueless take for someone who is supposed to be an "expert".

I feel like some people are just stupid...and I say this a man who is a bit slow himself at times.
There is literally no downside to this deal.
Its one year.
We need a shooter (even if he falls off, his rep alone creates space).
He's a vet who can teach the kids how to nap and ****..
This money wasn't going to be used otherwise outside of some **** sign and waive at the deadline for a second round pick to sell.
AND its a great gesture to future FAs that we are actually trying to win now instead of more tanking.

People are so short sighted that they can't even see what is right in front them goddam. We got lambasted for not trying for 5 years and now when we start to move forward "idk why dey did dat"...its amazing as **** to see.

i expected a multi year deal..in which then you could in theory complain...but a one year rental with basically house money hurts no one except maybe Stauskas...and who gives a **** about him.
