Mason Plumlee is one of the top 3 or 4 free agent centers and for the right price, we should sign him. He's probably the best fit of all the free agent centers, at least in my opinion.
However, there are other free agent centers that might be nice additions for the Nuggets if they want to go another direction.
My two favorites, in order, would be:
Dewanyne Dedmon is a rebounder, shot-blocker, rim-protecting defender - and a versatile, athletic player. He doesn't add a lot of offense, but as a backup on the offensive Nuggets, he just might fit quite nicely. He's a restricted free agent but San Antonio might let him go due to cap problems, depending on any moves they might make.
Willie Reed has never been a super-star and has worked hard to make it to the NBA. He's not showy, but he is a great rebounder on both ends of the court. He plays hard and doesn't back down from anybody.

How about two Phoenix Suns? Can they afford to resign both?
Alex Len is not going to command a huge salary and will give his best off the bench. He can block shots and score down low and hit corner 3s.
Alan Williams is young and was undrafted and barely played last year, but he nearly averaged a double-double after the all-star break, while averaging 20 mpg. His rebounding percentage is very high and he seems to have great timing for blocking shots although he's only 6'8". It helps that his wingspan is 7'1".

Finally, dare I suggest JaVale McGee? He could be had for a very reasonable price and he knows he's not going to be a starter.

Re: Free Agent Centers
I doubt you can get someone as good as Plumlee for the $5.8 million cap hold. The object is to chase the stars and keep your cap hold on him to resign him before someone else tries to steal him.

I like dedmon and Willie Reed a lot. Willie should be pretty cheap. I'd rather have either than plumlee.

Since Hill is gone, is this the last position we'll be filling ??

Re: Free Agent Centers
They have to make a decision on Plumlee and that will wait for a while.
Canned in Denver.

Well, that's a good question. we have 14 players under contract, if I count right, plus 2 1st round picks, plus maybe Plumlee. That's 17 players and without a G-League team, we are limited to 15 players.
So how can we fill another position? The only real option left is the long awaited, long expected, long needed "consolidation trade".
If the front office wants to reaffirm themselves, the signing of Millsap was only part 1 of two necessary moves.
1) Sign a big name FA - and I'm glad his playing fits the Nuggets' style.
2) Make a consolidation trade - which means trading 2 or more players for 1 much better player. IMO that's the harder accomplishment of my two requests. (But please don't trade Jokic, Murray, Harris - unless it's a legit superstar that is 26 years old or less and there aren't too many of those.)
