I think he gets cut end of training camp before we have to pick up his 6 mil option for the following season. He's not going to be easier to trade after that point.

I think it's more likely he gets cut than it is likely he's moved for positive value after that option gets picked up.

Agreed that they should not pick up Jah's 4th year option. And after you decline it, it's really a coin flip whether you even bother to keep him around at all. You still may be able to move him as an expiring in a bigger deal, or maybe he just fills out the bottom of the roster for the year.

Not really a debate when the Okafor supporters put as much effort into their arguments as Okafor does on defense:

Okafor critic: "I don't think we keep Okafor because of his looming 4th year option decision - he won't be worth his salary and will cease to be an asset."

Okafor supporter: "I don't actually have an argument but your argument sucks and you're sad."

Colangelo is reportedly only signing one year deals in an attempt to pursue a max free agent next summer. Okafor's 6.3 million dollar option could prevent them from having the necessary cap room. If BC's objective is to clear max cap slot, he likely won't pick up Jah's option. So maybe find him a better home or let him expire.

I don't think Jah is playing up to his full capabilities right now but I also don't think he ever will for this team.

Cutting him would kind of be good for both sides

So whats his excuse for not playing to his full capabilities?

Now, there is no excuse for bad play, however, the last few years the excuse was for a better draft pick. Sure it may not have affected Okafor's play, but it could have. Also, the guards were terrible. Anyway, if he can get focused and improve, he could be Embiid's backup and give the coach options against certain match ups. What's the rush to dump him?

I'm in no rush to dump him, but most of his warts are his own fault. He's got nobody to blame except himself.

He was part of the reason we sucked. Saying we purposely made him play bad for a better pick is a joke. If he played like a top 3 pick and positively impacted the game like an elite prospect, we'd have been better off. That's not the case.

Yes the guards were terrible, but did that hinder Embiid at all last year?

Sixers out: Okafor
Sixers in: Sabonis, Al Jefferson, Blazers 2018 1st top 20 protected until 2023 at which point becomes 2023 and 2024 2nd round picks, Pacers 2022 1st round pick top 20 protected (if not conveyed in 2022 or 2023 then will turn into 2023 and 2024 2nd round picks

Pacers out: Sabonis, Jefferson, Pacers 2022 1st round pick top 20 protected (if not conveyed in 2022 or 2023 then will turn into 2023 and 2024 2nd round picks
Pacers in: Okafor, Crabbe

Pacers get younger and get a couple guys who can score.

Blazers out: Crabbe, Blazers 2018 1st top 20 protected until 2023 at which point becomes 2023 and 2024 2nd round picks
Blazers in: cap space

They couldnt even get Sabonis for Okafor, let alone picks.

Seems like Indiana who just got screwed, get screwed way worse.

A) Amir signed
B) Bolden wants to come over
C) Jah has been really bad
D) The Sixers want max cap room next summer

All of this would lead me to believe that Jah getting cut is a real possibility. Be funny if, after all that energy spent arguing Noel v. Okafor, they end up dumping both of them.

I do that but doubt they do. Okafor stinks. The second isn't very valuable. Stauskas is at the end of rookie deal. Prob not enough. It's like taking three things out of your trash can and trying to barter with them. That package has such little value.

I don't disagree. So what do you think the Sixers could add, that we as fans would be okay with, that could turn those two into something useful?
